3. It was just a complimentary applaud to let him know he was dealing
with a civilized group of folks.

5. Roughly twenty seconds at the end
according to Randi Rhodes' radio show yesterday. I imagine it was the sort you'd hear at a golf tournament.

7. It was pretty bad
He spoke with that same slow, halting, waiting for applause style that he gives during the SOTU, and campaign speeches. This time though instead of wild applause he heard the sound of crickets chirping.

Anyone watching could tell that they hated him.

12. He needs ...
those pauses so they can feed him the next line through his ear piece. I was going to say he needed them so his brain could catch up, but that never happens.

8. About three seconds of polite pitty-patty when it was finally over
It was like watching something on Masterpiece Theater, when the crowd applauds something witty as His Lordship's garden party, their reaction muffled by white gloves.

13. Body language
The body language of those listening to the speech at the UN was interesting. Many sat there stone-faced and some with crossed arms. There were no smiles or head nodding. It was funny to see * pause during the speech and look uncomfortable when wild cheering did not break out.
