much good.

I thought this was an interesting verse from the Bible. Makes me wonder who we know whose lack of wisdom has gotten us into a war.

6. better wisdom than warlike weapons............
Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 07:28 AM by mrbill
Better wisdom than warlike weapons, but one mistake undoes a deal of good. Dead flies spoil a bowl of perfumed oil; a little folly is stronger than wisdom and honor.

The wise man's heart leads him alright,
the fool's heart leads him astray.

A fool has only to walk along the road and, having no sense, he makes it plain to all what a fool he is.

-- new jerusalem bible, 1970.

another fun one from Ecclesiastes.

Do not curse the king, even in thought.
do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom,
for a bird of the air will carry the news;
indiscretion sprouts wings.

on edit: small annoying typo.

2. Chapter and verse?
I'm collecting such passages from the Bible to make my own handout for warmongering RW fundies who think George Bush is doing God's work.

Matthew Chapter 5 is probably the most damning retort to their worship of Baal Bush!

rev.16
<13> And I saw, issuing from the mouth of the dragon and from the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet, three foul spirits like frogs;
