Spin - NBC news with tom brokaw had bits about some/Bush saying
the insurgents in Iraq are tying to push Bush out of office. Then they had a reporter from Iraq and some other official say the same thing - that insurgents did not want the elections to happen in Jan and they were trying to push Bush out of office

how do you like this spin???

2. Well, I mean
of COURSE they are trying to sabotage our elections. Who would ever believe they only want their own f#%king country back? How unlikely would THAT be?

5. It's the new talking point, repeated by Russert on radio today
and sure to be endlessly echoed throughout weekend pundit programs. As per Atrios:

snip-- (Atrios quoting from comments)
I just heard Timmy Russert interviewed by our area CBS affiliate. They wanted to know his take on the polls, and why Gallup is so out of line with the others this week. Timmy said, he didn't know, that CW is you have to look at each party's internal polling, and if you do, Bush is ahead by 5-6 points. I know that was true for last week, but I'm highly sceptical about it now. Has anyone found any internal polling data?

By the way, the interviewers asked Timmy, since everything is a mess in Iraq and word is seeping out, would not Russert's claim possibly be in question. Russert gave some garbage that it is believed that the insurgency in Iraq is possibly intentionally aimed at getting Bush defeated!

(that probably is NBC affiliate, though I don't know)

So, that's where we stand. All the bad people in the world have united with a common goal of electing John Kerry. Anything bad that happens, anywhere, anytime, by anybody, happens because somebody is trying to deny George Bush his throne.

6. Is it really NEWS that Iraqis dislike Bush*?
Those reporters had to work hard to get THAT story! Nothing like a freaking work ethic.

7. Well, if Bush can't handle a bunch of ragtag ragheads....
he certainly can't be trusted to protect the good old U.S. of A.!

15. this picture and many of the others freak me out all the time.....
I just find my feelings 'ache' when I think of being in this person's situation

and realizing that BushCo are capable of doing this to any of us by labeling us - traitors - enemy combatants - or what ever label they come up with for those who are against them

9. It wasn't stated that the iraqis want bush out - it was stated that
the insurgents want bush out
this is spin - trying to influence the election

trying to say if people vote for kerry insurgents win

That is the problem
The iraqis want Bush gone
turned to abc after that and they were more real - they showed that we are killing women and children not insurgents

so the spin masters are amazing the the new people have become big puppets in fooling the american public

I have seen peter on abc worldnews spin things before an election and almost make it seem like you were dumb if you voted for al gore back in 2000 - they start spinning long before polls close on the west coast and I believe they influence the elections too much

they need to NOT be allowed to report until all polls are closed - this is the only way to stop this mess.

11. Sorry, I misunderstood
And good on ABC for telling about the women and children. I wish all the networks would show the true carnage. That was what helped end the Viet Nam War. When I was a kid, we saw the mangled bodies, the burning villages. Now we get 12 minutes of medical news, 12 minutes of
ads for pharm products and about 6 minutes of Pro-Bush hype. Like I said, nothing like a work ethic, is there?

13. yeah - in black and white too
they have glorified war and make it like a video game

shooting from helicopters against people on the ground 'helps remove' the troops to what they are really doing - killing another human being

I remember getting hold of WWII papers my grandmother had saved. I spent the whole afternoon up in the attic - in my teens - the pictures of the victims and gas ovens and mass graves - it never left my mind -

I have a hard time sanctioning any war - they don't seem to solve much -

yet I know we needed to stop hilter - just as we have to stop Bush and the rest -

but the atom bomb - still feels wrong and freaky to me - how that country ever got past that I don't know - and yes what they did was bad too -

not sure what the better way is - but this iraq thing is definitely is biting us in the a**

14. it is funny you say that - on the news yesterday they were talking
to another dead soliders mother - they made a point to say - she is still a patriot - that was very telling to me - like hilters followers - they were with the reich or the enemy
