Volunteer Your Kid...Now!!!
My daughter took a light semester at college to take a 'hot job.' She came to me and asked if I'd cover her expenses through election day because she wanted to work for Kerry instead. I said, Hell Yes!!! and, thanks to a helpful VA DUer, she's working for Kerry/Edwards 25 hours a week (our deal) plus all sorts of extra time. It's great for her, great for Kerry, and I feel great. I'm giving (till it hurts) and putting in some time but this is the most gratifying thing I'm doing.

I encourage any of you with kids sitting around to do the same or come up with a creative way to incent your kids to work for Kerry. Some of you may say, "that should come from them." My response is, how will they know that "that" is until they get out and bust some ass for the right cause. It's a life lesson and a gift.

If they're sitting around and need some motivation or reason to justify their room & board, put 'em to work!!!

Please kick this. I think it's a very important message. Thanks.

2. I went out the other day before heading to school
to volunteer at my local HQ. Turns out they needs some computer help and I go to school for this stuff. A lady there volunteered her son saying he is for kerry but she wants him to get involved more and to show him what supporting envolves in a political campaign. It was awesome. I start donating time this weekend.

3. If you don't volunteer for Kerry
lots of young folks will be 'volunteered' for Bush's wars of agression that are sure to keep coming if he is elected.

5. Harkin from IA 1st ran for the House in 72...he lost
I worked in the county democratic office and often brought my 3 year old son along. He picked up pins and paper from the floor. In 74 Harkin ran again and won; my son worked with me again...this time straightening letters, etc.

I brag that my son has been a Harkin supporter from the very first.

BTW: Harkin's wife ran for county atty in 72 and won. She was the first female county atty in IA (also the first in the family to win an election!!!)
