I pound my politics into my kids' heads every chance I get. My oldest is almost twenty, and will vote for the first time in a presidential election. So will I. His cousins, both his age, are serving in Iraq right now.
What I notice is that these kids DO pay attention to what is going on. It reminds me of how things were in the fifties and on into the sixties...it is reflected in their music, clothes, etc...just as it always has been. I talk about the state of our country to their friends all the time. I try to educate them. I listen to them. Some are like their rw parents, some echo my feelings. Either way, most of these kids either ARE or will soon be of voting age.
I also talk to family. Especially family members that had no real interest in politics. Hey, If I can influence or plant the tiniest seed, I am so very happy!
It aint easy in 'bush-country' but the more vocal I am, perhaps the more vocal others will be too.
