WMD's. How come some people can have 'em & others not?
From all sides of the political spectrum in western countries you hear the rationale that certain countries (like Iran for example) are to be kept from posessing weapons of mass destruction.

Only a couple of days ago, I heard Randi saying so. (arguing that Iran, seeking WMD, would be a more valid target then Iraq :wtf:)

What I cannot wrap my mind around, is WHERE countries having nuclear capabilities find the moral authority to forbid others to pursue these weapons.

The only logic I can find behind it, is the logic of power : "I have WMD, and I have/own/control a disproportionate amount of the world's resources, so in order to protect my (asocial) position I will try to keep others from obtaining this technology."

I have the feeling that the west/north is trying to fight against the south/east, the war of the haves with the have-nots in several ways.

So I would really prefer if all those countries would STOP asking for WMD nonproliferation from others unless they get rid of ALL of theirs.

Hypocrisy at the very least.
