for ratings, to twist the knife in Bush/Rove, to let MSRNC, FOX ETC hang themselves.

2. One scenario no one is considering: The memos and their content...

...are genuine. The memos have been slightly altered to obscure their origins. This is a leak of valid information, by someone (or something-piss off the CIA much?), that doesn't want anyone to be able to figure out who is responsible.

Here's another scenario. The memos are forgeries but their content is 100%, spot-on correct. Once again, perhaps to obscure the source.

No matter which scenario, I believe the basic point is that the content is very, very real. If the White House believed that the content was false IN ANY WAY, they would be attacking the hell out of the content, which they are not. The content is the damaging stuff. Maybe THIS is the revenge of the intelligence services that have had to wear egg on their collective faces since this bunch of fuck heads stole the White House.
