3. They will do it.
This is just a pretense..."debating"....they are going. It's the agenda. The PNAC agenda.

Someone needs to stop these people!

7. Yep
They're using the same sort of language they used before we invaded Iraq. "No option is off the table."

Asked whether Israel would take military action if the US dithered, Mr Schmitt replied: "Absolutely. No government in Israel will let this pass ultimately."

<snip>

"The window of opportunity for disarming strikes against Iran will close in 2005," it warns, as key plants come on stream next year. It says Iran has two dozen suspected nuclear sites.

8. The media!
What the hell is their excuse? They have to know about PNAC! Why would they not defy the orders of their corporate owners and do the right thing? I'm beginning to think our country has already been taken over COMPLETELY by FASCISTS. We are there.

I started a thread about this last week and it sunk like a lead balloon.

Why would the journalists want THEIR children to grow up under a fascist regime?

Why would they want their parents to choose between food and medicine?

Why would they want their family members to go without health care?

Why would they want their family members to have their jobs outsourced?

Why would they want their children to not have the best education?

Why would they want their children to breath polluted air and drink toxic water?

THE MEDIA!!! What are they thinking? Why are they being complicit in furthering this fascist regime? Why?

9. Because facsism can be quite ego-stroking
if you are the Nazis and not the Jews

if you are the Italians and not the Ethiopians

etc.

The lure of Totalitarianism is as old as humankind, much older than the actual Totalitarianism itself, having been identical to the authoritarian impulses of the followers.

The idea that you are superior to others, that you hold power over others based solely on race or in the case of Imperail Amerika or the Soviet Union Party Affiliation, speaks to the deep darknesses which lurk within all of us which the Age of Reason purported to combat and which are coming back into style now that the Age of Reason is fading, especially in Imperial Amerika.

Where you see some things, someone ON TOP in a potential Totalitarian Regime sees

The inferiors "kept in place" and silenced
As they are currently rich (superior), what inferiors have to do to survive is not their problem
Health Care will "always" be available to Superiros, Inferiors, well, who cares, eh?
There will ALWAYS be jobs in a Totalitarian State for Loyal (Superiors, as opposed to their Freeper Sturmtruppen) Party Members and Mouthpieces
In Totalitarianism, the education of Superiors is assured. In fact, it becomes more significant as the Inferiors are denied the tools they need to understand what is going on...no problem there
Again, a Superior Bushevik Party member can rest assured that they will be able to afford air/water/food "filtration", so to speak, and who cares about the Inferiors except that they should just be quiet.

You see, you view these issues from the perspective of a Free American.

But our Media Whores view it through the prism of the Totalitarian Bootlicker, which is in essence what they are.

(naturally, this is a generalization and thus the details certainly don't apply ALL Media Whores, and I daresay that ego would prevent them from considering it in these terms)

Now that I have Channeled a Pravda Whore. I need a shower.

13. More than that... religious war.
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 10:19 AM by redqueen
I think this is why the Christianity = America theme is being pushed so hard.

Many consider the Crusades to be justified - since Muslims at the time had taken over lands that had previously belonged to Christians.

Islamic terrorists have given the warmongers just what they wanted - an excuse. Terrorist attacks have been going on in Indonesia, Chechen, Afghanistan, etc. ... but now we in America have been really hurt by Islamic terror. People are scared.

Many people are ready for a holy war. Eager, even. If there is another attack, there will be nothing anyone can do to stop the consequences.

Hold on to your hats, folks.

16. The media is nothing more than corporations,
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 12:27 PM by FrustratedDemInNC
government, think-takes and advertisers making huge profits and ignoring the basic human needs and rights of the people. Our society is being brainwashed with the constant spin/propaganda and it will only get worse unless we stop it.

How? I don't know, but I fear this country will no longer exist if we can't change the course. I've never been so afraid.

15. GREAT info here:
I'm posting this all over the place on DU-
You might want to PM Anarchy1999 on Costa Rica-
She and her husband are well versed on it as their
friends moved there at the start of the Iraq war.
http://www.escapeartist.com
Word is, there is already a colony of expatriots there...
Make no mistake, they are going after Iran- that has ALWAYS
been the plan and they have no qualms about the agenda.
No matter the cost to the world as we know it.
America is over, at least the America we know.
