They are about to blow away in Mobile, Alabama. Encouraging people not to go outside.

it seems pretty certain his late brother was. Defenestration his fate. . . in front of their mother, Gloria Vanderbilt.

Very sad story.

He let that slip out during the primaries, I believe the week of the GA Democratic Primary. Ever since then I stopped watching when he was on.

5. I used to storm sail...extreme weather can be fun :)
A friend and I would wait for small craft advisories on Lake Erie and go out in his 19-foot sailboat. Sure, it's a little dangerous, but extreme weather can be extremely enjoyable.

12. HA!
My stupid local TV station sent one of our weather guys into the hurricane. All the way from Topeka, Kansas. How stupid is that? We are now getting our own video reports from our own stupid little station.

Create a series of those hurricane reistant dome ocean front houses (like the one NBC is using) about every 60 miles from George all the way to Texas. Rent them out to tourists during regular times, but during hurricane season rent them to news crews at $10,000/Day so they can get there "money shot". If you are really evil, build it close to a house you KNOW will go down in any wind over 90 mph so you can guarentee the "money shot" of the house collapsing.

15. CNN = Contains NO News......(good read)
They're NOT reporters, they're entertainers. It's about ratings - and which dumb employee will stand out in the hurricane the longest...and maybe, maybe get injured or killed so CNN can have more ratings.

Please understand that CNN is NOT a news channel. Proof here:

20. reminds me of idiot L.A. TV reporter in 1992
It was the rainy season in L.A., February or March 1992, with a huge storm about to hit the coast. KCBS had a reporter, Harvy Levin, doing a report on the danger of possible flash floods while standing IN Malibu Creek ! Even the "news model" anchors back in the studio were dumbstruck by this.

22. I have a friend who works for KCBS,
and he claims reporters are ordered by management to stand in the rain without umbrellas or waterproof clothing when the rare big storm hits LA and the local yokel stations go on "stormwatch." Says it boosts ratings. LOL

25. Jeez, I'm in awe. In 1983 I'd just moved to Houston and Alicia was on
the way. I choose to stay. I'd always loved extreme weather, I grew up with it on a farm/ranch in SouthEastern Colorado and in Dallas. Tornadoes, no problem. My new husband worked for the phone company in Clear Lake, he was asked to stay, I had a new job at the Holiday Inn across the street for NASA. We stayed. I thought it would be fun, interesting to go through a hurricane. Alicia only hit a Cat 3, I have never been so scared in my life and I will never live through anything like it again, voluntarily. All night long I heard the roar of engines running through our apartment complex. We had teams of 3 and 4 people gathered at the windows holding them in. It is a night I never want to go through and never will again willingly. My love of nature and my respect of nature went up thousands of times that night.

I will never forget. It was only a Cat 3, inland about 20 miles when the eye went over within a mile or two.
