Quote from Bush supporter in Arizona Republic today
Big article about rural Arizonans and their thoughts on the Presidential races.

Jimmy Norris, 58, of Wilcox AZ said, "Here's how I feel about this terrorist deal...If you don't go for them, we're going to be just like Israel. We won't be able to go downtown to get a cup of coffee without suicide bombers. I think if you don't go where they're at, you're going to have them right here on your doorstep."

Suicide bombers!?! Where the f**k does he think he is? And is this not totally reminiscent of pro-Vietnam propaganda? "If we don't fight this war we're gonna have Russian tanks rolling down Main Street USA!" And what does this have to do with invading Iraq, pray tell? This is what we're up against people and it's truly scary.

2. The war mongers just like to kill foreigners - just for fun really.
They define the phrase "paranoid coward". They need some of the new available drugs.

3. What the hell
makes them think that because we're fighting in Iraq that we're safe from terrorism here? WTF planet do these morons live on?

All the anti-American terrorists in the world aren't fighting in Iraq. Guess what? They're in Britain, they're in Canada, and they're definitely here in the US - waiting for the right time to strike us again. It's just a matter of time. The war only allows them to sew up their very own "base" and recruit a new generation of terrorists.

My Mom always said that war orphans grow up to be terrorists. While we may spare ourselves an attack here in the US for the next few months or few years, undoubtedly there will be more attacks in the future as a diret result of this military action in Iraq.

4. Faux Fear brought to you via Faux News from the Faux President
Thank god we don't have an NRA-type organization that thinks common citizens should have access to explosives!

5. Sounds like a Hitler / Roehm Brown Shirt SA's from the 1930's in...
...Germany. One step away from total authoritarian power to form ghettos and concentration camps right here in the U.S. of A. where all suspicious elements, political descendent's and various undesirables can be locked away to squash threats, enhance security and preserve real Amerika. We already have terrorists at our doors and they are called neo-conservative right-wing religious-fundamentalist racist fanatics.

6. Hey, one day, a grateful nation will erect. . .
an hysterical monument on the site where Jimmy Norris defined our national faux angst here at the close of the 2004 campaign.

7. Well, Jimmy, Sid Blumenthal has got news for you…
(snip)

W Andrew Terrill, professor at the Army War College's strategic studies institute - and the top expert on Iraq there - said: "I don't think that you can kill the insurgency". According to Terrill, the anti-US insurgency, centred in the Sunni triangle, and holding several cities and towns - including Fallujah - is expanding and becoming more capable as a consequence of US policy.

"We have a growing, maturing insurgency group," he told me. "We see larger and more coordinated military attacks. They are getting better and they can self-regenerate. The idea there are x number of insurgents, and that when they're all dead we can get out is wrong. The insurgency has shown an ability to regenerate itself because there are people willing to fill the ranks of those who are killed. The political culture is more hostile to the US presence. The longer we stay, the more they are confirmed in that view."
