9. There's a grammatical mistake in the first line!! LOL
"This is a request that you commence a Subcommittee investigation into the continued use by CBS News of apparently forged of documents"

Two "of"s. Guess the guy doesn't know English.

8. One question
When will we have FOX face the music?

They have pulled far more egregious things

And by the way... there is this thing these GOPers want to do... and it is to shut down ANY media critical to them

20. Why should we put up with lies from anyone?
And an investigation of CBS would not end with CBS. It would include the whole rotten bunch.

What a good time to discredit them.

So, ya think CBS will fight back or cave in?

I think, fight.

17. If the memos are real Bush deserves the investigation.
I still haven't heard a good reason to believe they're fakes. If you have anything to share with the rest of the class, please speak up.

23. The memos are irrelevant. Bush should be investigated anyway.
I thought then, and I think now those memos were deliberate plants to destroy the story. Those memos had nothing to do with how Bush got into the Guard. That was the original story that is now forgotten. We were sandbagged.

4. GO FOR IT!!!!

It is clear that either the TANG had typewriters that make superscript 'th' characters or the White House doctored up the records they released.

BTW, look around and you'll find reduced size 'st' as in 1 st Lieutenant as well. We've identified the IBM Composer and Executive as two typewriters that could have produced this text. We've identified that the text is CLOSE to Times New Roman, but not quite the same. And it's no surprise given that Times New Roman is based on Times Roman.

Let them investigate, I think it will be fun!!!!!

14. Sijnce when have they cared about fake!

I am more convinced than ever that this is ROVE all the way.
When will we call for an investigation of Rove.

If we have a CBS investigation, why not include FOX and CNN and all the rest?

Oops, I forgot that the head of the FCC is Colon's whore son.
I forgot that we have a Republican controlled Congress and that we live in Nazi Germany.

19. No they are correct in calling for one
here is the logic

We discredit CBS and the elite media (their mantra) hence their followers no longer pay attention to anybody they say... this happens and they have further control

Moreover, it also keeps the story up there as a FORGERY, nobody is disucsiing the content, but we are not talking about the real issues either

It is a master stroke from any propaganda standpoint, and it is not unlike what the Nazis and Fasicsts did to their respective media in the 1920s and 1930s,

21. There is a little thing called the 1st Amendment - freedom of the press.
This is just the republicans trying chip away a little more at the bill of rights.

27. I'm not an attorney, but I think it does. I think the only recourse would
be a civil suit for defamation, but they would have to prove that the documents are forgeries and that CBS knew that they were.

News agencies report inaccurate information all the time. If the government were to investigate every case there would be a constant battle in the courts, and I definitely think it would violate 1st amendment rights.

25. Why don't we also call for an investigation of the GOP congressman calling
for an investigation of CBS? Who knows? A link between him and nazi-type opposition to free speech and democracy might be uncovered! Maybe people will begin to see clearly that G e o r g e W a l k e r
B u s h has unleashed some sort of Nazi type cult on this nation that will take it down a path many of us want to avoid and many others will regret.
