Japanese parents maybe legally responsible for teenage sex?
Ashcrack will want to pass this in US.....
quote---------
Parents in Tokyo would be legally responsible for keeping school-aged children from having sex if the city's top law and order official gets his way.
The legal age of consent in Tokyo is 18.

Some 20 to 30 percent of Japanese 16-year-olds have had sex and nearly a quarter of these have four or more partners, according to Masako Kihara, an AIDS (news - web sites) expert and associate professor at Kyoto University.

2. I would think that would be awkward for the parents.
I mean seriously... can't the kid find his own dates?

4. Actually parents HAVE been sued here when a child results
from teen sex.. If you think about it, it's not that outlandish.. If your 14 year old daughter had a baby with her 16 yr old boyfriend, whose family had some means, wouldn;t you expect them to help out??

6. Yeah, I'd pay for the abortion
If you choose anything else, it's your choice. Both kids are underage and therefore not responsible.

7. No, I wouldn't
It's not a grandparents job to raise their grandchildren. If they want to, that's great, but nobody should be forced to support people they had no involvement in creating.

Personally, my kids have already heard the rules. The moment they become parents, they become adults. That means they get jobs, their own places, and I spend their college funds on a nice European vacation. If they're not ready to raise kids, they'd damned well better not have any.

8. Thankfully, my 3 grown sons never put us in that position
but...if a baby ends up being born, someone must pay to raise it..If a young teen has no assets, who will step up and raise it??

Adoption is the obvious solution, but is one that is rarely used these days.,

10. Uh oh...I thought 16 was the age of consent in Japan

Seriously, I've never even been there but that was my impression from the times I've come across this particular topic. I've also seen it reported that 14 was the aoc in various places, though that may have changed.

Considering what I've read about the pressure to do well in school (bad marks sometimes end in suicides) I'm surprised anyone has time to screw.
