Anyone have webspace to host a 124 MB .wmv file of "Outfoxed" ?
I just finished downloading it off of Kazaa after much searching and delays in peer connection.

I figure it's something that should get seen by as many people as possible. If anyone wants to host it anywhere it would be awesome. I'll post a yousendit upload of it for you first in a Personal message and once you've got it I'll put it in this thread for as many people who get to download it before the bandwidth runs out.

3. As good as WMV files tend to be
It's not like you're watching an eye candy movie. It's fine and worth watching for something like this.

4. I bought a copy
and the quality of the audio track is horrible, but the content is quite good.

2. bandwidth is the problem there
unless you've got an available T1 line, I would recommend hosting this, because if even 6 or so people try to watch it, the bandwidth will soar, the movie will lag, and your ISP may send you nasty email.

5. I don't understand your post?
You would reccomend hosting this? I don't know how to host a file. The only thing I know what to do is either E-Mail it to someone who does or send a link to an uploaded yousendit.com file for them to host it.

I dont' have any webpage or webspace or whatever to host it on. I'm asking if others do.

6. When you say "host"...
... that typically means you put a link to the file on a web page.

To do so is pretty easy, you just need 125 meg of server disk space.

What is *not* so easy is paying the bandwidth bill if people actually click your link and download or watch your movie.

The cheapest bandwidth you can get right now is around $0.40 a gigabyte. That means if 8 people download your movie, you pay $0.40. If 800 do, that would be $40.00. It can get pretty expensive pretty quick.

8. Bombtrack you might want to look into
breaking the movie up in sections. People would be able to download each section and use a joiner to put everything together.

10. here are some to choose from
I never had the need to use one. After a fast search I found these shareware versions. I'm sure with a lil deeper search you will be able to track down a good freeware version.

hope this helps. At least you're aware such a thing exists.

12. Uh, it's only like $20 isn't it?
Skip lunch for a couple of days & buy the damn thing - I'm all for getting the message out, but the people who put this thing together deserve to be compensated for their trouble. What's the incentive to do another documentary like this if even people like us won't pay for it?

If you're going to do this, at least throw a few dimes at mediamatters.org.
