The most important difference between us and the republicans is
they need gullible, ignorant and swaggering Americans to follow their lies sheepishly without asking any questions; we need thinking people
who weigh each issue after careful consideration and put their leaders' feet to the fire.

2. I was reading one of Zogby's September Newsletters and....
Edited on Thu Sep-23-04 10:53 AM by eaprez
...interestingly the majority of Bush/Cheney supporters cite FOX News as their news source. So the theory that only the dumb and ignorant support Bush is supported by the Zogby poll results!

3. Actually, another difference is this:
Democrats feel the full spectrum of emotions, from love to anger to compassion to sadness to joy to manic giddiness to despair.

Republicans feel only one emotion: the obsessive desire to get revenge. All other emotions you may see them express are fake.

4. You are right. A lot of the ones I know
seem very angry all the time. Another thing is Democrats care more about everyone else, not just themselves. While a lot of Republicans have the attitude that if you are poor you just brought it upon yourself and deserve it. They think of themselves with no regard to anyone else, not even their own children and grandchildren because most of them have no problem creating massive debt and destroying the environment and then leaving that to their children.

14. In this regard, one of our best Governors, Jennifer Granholm, made
a remark that during the tough times in the American auto industry, we have an obligation to look after "the least among us" as the Bible says. This sent the Republicans into a mad frenzy that a Democrat could quote the Bible. It is as though the Republicans own the flag and
the Bible.

I would like to think Abu Ghraid should be enough to cause Americans to try to depose this regime.

9. Whoops. Forgot that one.
Okay, "an obsessive desire to get revenge" and "greed."

That ain't enough gamut, as J. Carducci might say.

13. In some ways, what appears to be greed, may indeed be panic
that their corporate models that kill the Golden Goose by drowning the corporations in debt owing to the sky high salaries of CEOs is not working anymore. This is why there is an exodus to India and China, abandoning the American workers and our cities and communities to ruin.Even the tax cuts that Bush has put in place for the rich is simply to allow time for these frauds to move their corporations overseas while sucking the lifeblood out of Americans.

7. Republicans make up a tiny fraction of the American population.
They are organized by corporate money to be ruthless, aggressive, and vocal in order to make the rest of us subject to their senseless lunacy.

It is time to make republicans the pariahs that they are, anti-American control freaks that want to tell the rest of us what to do and how to be.

Republicans suck, they are the shittiest people in the United States, and the rest of us need to start publically expressing our contempt for these losers.

Let's make republican a bad word, and a rotten thing to be.

Because it really is.

Republicans suck.

10. One of the best analogies
I've read was from Al Franken. It was something to the effect that Republicans love our country the way a four year old loves their mommy. Mommy can do no wrong. Anyone who criticizes mommy is bad. Liberals love our country like grown-ups, taking the good with bad, learning from mistakes and helping the country grow.

15. also logic is not their best friend nor rationality and they may be CRAZY
Edited on Thu Sep-23-04 12:34 PM by lionesspriyanka
an ex: i posted on a conservative board a few days ago. and i will add did not say anything bad about conservatives at all. just that i dont think bush is a good president. so instead of talking about politics or really anything of substance they started rambling about my "fag brother" and how my mother is a "whore"...does this sound like what normal people say when they disagree with your politics or even your life?

it is the ramblings of crazy irrational people with no logical base whatsoever.

Also Greed: the extra tax break money makes the world of difference to them. And they are willing to trade their dignity and compassion for said money. (ex: Christians trade in the compassion that Christ spoke about constantly and the Log Cabiners trade in their dignity)

17. A big difference is...
A large difference between Bush supporters and the rest of us is that some of us still have enough capacity for thought to know it's not a good idea to march in lemming like fashion over a cliff, behind a drunken, spoiled frat boy.

9.11 was a failure of the frat boy, not a success.
The invasion of Iraq was a mistake, not a Bush admin success.
Etc. etc.

Thinking people can see the failures. Non-thinking people blindly cheer on their team, no matter what.
