20. That is so cool.
My kid loves John Kerry, too. She says, "when Jawn Kewwy coming over?" She make patriotic pictures to give to him. Maybe I can send them to undecides. Captioned, "see, even my 3 year old wants you to vote Kerry!" Gonna have to take that kid to a rally.

14. That's No Way To Inspire Anybody To Do Anything
Edited on Thu Sep-23-04 04:51 PM by Xipe Totec
You don't know what I may or may not be doing for the Kerry campaign, and for that mater neither you nor I know what trumad may or may not be doing either. So please don't assume.

I posted a link to the Kerry volunteer site so that anyone that wants to become involved can do so. I believe that was more constructive than what you provided in your original post, or in the flaming reply to my second post.

I am a mule by nature and do not take kindly to anyone pushing me around. If I wanted to be an order following zombie, I'd join the Republican party.

Now let's all do what we can to help Kerry win.

(edited for coherence)

4. I registered 4 new voters today, AND I want to watch the news,
on any network of my choice. Tomorrow, after work, I will try to register more voters, but when I get home, I want to watch the news, read the news and look on the internet for news.

8. Good for registering 4 voters but listening to the news
is one of our problems

The media is not going to suddenly turn around and start saying nice things about Kerry

You can guarentee that Bush will "win" the debates, Kerry will loose voters by speaking the truth and America will quickly become 1984.

Giving these assholes attention is part of the problem; registering voters, canvassing for Kerry, calling your senators about BBV, are all part of the solution.

It is that simple.

15. Please give me credit for being able to filter!
If you think that both sides in an upcoming battle, or both sides in an upcoming football game, (million other examples here) don't watch what the other side is doing, saying and thinking, then you are too naive. Most of us here on DU are perfectly able to filter information and to label it as accurate, semi-accurate, or crap. If I am not a Nielsen family, and MSNBC, et al cannot tell if I am watching or not, then I don't see a problem with watching, listening and evaluating. When Michael Moore told people not to watch the news, he was suggesting that people are taking too seriously what is reported to them and getting upset/depressed over it. I like to think that I am not that weak minded. I am strong-minded enough not to like people telling me repeatedly NOT to watch the news. Dems are the party of CHOICE, no? Then, I choose to watch the news with my filter turned on. Sue me.

22. It is so great to hear how many Du'ers are working for the Kerry campaign
I work a couple days a week in the local campaign office calling people who have signed up to volunteer on-line or at meet-ups. I schedule them for canvassing or phone banking, or sign them up for house parties, working on election day, etc.

I can't tell you how many people who are volunteering say that this is the first time ever that they are volunteering for a political campaign.

We are doing phone banking calls to undecided voters right now and there is one couple volunteering who have a son serving in Iraq. They have not only moved people to tears, but also moved them right into the Kerry column.

Some interesting stats. For every 400 computer-generated call, we get one additional vote. For every 75 personal phone call, we get one additional vote. For every 15 face-to-face home visits, we get one additional vote.
