Are Nat'l Guardsfolk in Iraq getting body armor yet?
My brother's unit is set to ship out right around Christmastime, and last we've heard from him they've been given the vests but not the necessary kevlar inserts. Allegedly they'll get the inserts once they're in Iraq.
Allegedly.
Does anybody know if my family should count on the tender merices of Donlad Rumsfeld - or should we start holding bake sales now to do what we can to get a son and brother back home in one piece?

1. I'd definitely do the bake sales
If you dont need to buy the ceramic inserts, you can always use it to buy jerky, baby wipes, snacks, reading material, etc. Oh yeah, toilet paper and maybe water. :-(

Even in the best of cases our men and women in the field need stuff.

Best of luck to your brother.
