How will America respond to the next attack?
If we do get attacked before election day, and it's huge and destructive, how do you think America will respond?

Will we cower like scared little bunnies and vote for Bush because, well, because we're scared little bunnies?

Will we turn on Bush and vote Kerry because Bush has been saying that we're safer, we're safer, we're safer? We fight them THERE so we don't have to fight them HERE?

You can go broke betting on the reactions of people, however. People are so unpredictable.

Sometimes I think that the only thing that might shake this nation out of this propaganda-induced daze is another, disastrous attack. If it's nuclear, I want to be at ground zero.

1. Unfortunately, I say Bush...
Americans want to believe he is protecting us no matter what.

2. I don't think there will be an attack before the election . . .
for the reason that you ask -- how will America respond? No one knows how it would tip the scales. I believe Al Qaeda doesn't want to take a chance on Bush losing. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there is one shortly after Nov 2. Then what would happen? Could Bushco declare martial law & put off Kerry's inauguration?

3. Cower like scared bunnies and Follow Der Fuhrer
Sure, our grandparents who fought and defeated Hitler wouldn't have, but they are old or dead now.

"Once upon a time" has no meaning to a Tyrannized Totalitarian Nation because the Busheviks can rewrite said history at will now.

5. Well also
To be fair the Republicans have done a pretty good job of planting the idea that terrorists want John Kerry to be President. The American people wouldn't really see it as an act of cowardness to vote for Bush; they would see it as an act of defiance, in the face of terrorism.

Which is crap, but it not exactly the sam thing as cowardness.

7. Several Points....
1.) The Patriot Act(s) already contain all the clauses to shut down rights. An attack would provide the political cover.

2.) Regardless of how people react, we will be told we are supporting the pResident.

3.) If Bush wants to invade Iran and/or widen the war in Iraq, such an attack will be necessary to justify a draft and a national mobilization.
