Kerry cannot win unless he plays the same board game as Bush
It seems odd to me that Kerry wants to play one type of board game while Bush plays another.

For instance, one of the biggest hits on Bush would be the fact that he claimed God spoke to him and told him to attack Iraq. To be dramatic, a picture outside a mental institution would be a quick rebuttal to that. :-)

It should also put the Christian fundamentalists in their place!!!

Kerry is obviously unwilling to play the attack game as Bush. With that I see possible defeat staring Kerry in the face. And for the sake of the world peace I sincerely hope that that will not be the case.

1. Your post is wrong in so many ways.
Firt off, the only board game Kerry refuses to play with Bush is lying and controlling the media. I dont really want him playing either of those games, those games are crimes.

Your suggestion for an ad would backfire mightily. That ad would seam to be petty, mean, juvinille and almost more importantly, religious people would take a great deal of offence. It would be seen as anti-christian, just playing into covert right wing talking points.

And lastly, Kerry is EXTREMELY willing to play the attack game and is constantly attacking Bush. If you would bother finding Kerry's own words rather than trusting the general impression of him, you would know that. Kerry attacks Bush every day on a myriad of issues with very strong words. The media just doesnt see fit to tell anybody that he is doing it.

6. What I said was the truth - not fabrications or my imagination
You fight lies with harsh truth - and I am sure the ad and speech writers can do it more vividly and tastefully than I could.

But the fact is that Bush claims the "Christian" God as his own domain is the issue.

That is why the Christian fundamentalists are with him!!

7. The Xtian Fundies are with him because they are accstomed to Unquestioning
Obedience, and have been since they were obeying their masters and burning witches and Jews.

A generalization to which I'm sure there are some exceptions, but mostly true.

Christian Fundamentalists, like the Muslim Fundamentalists they are so much like, crave a Godly Leader to do their thinking for them, to strike at the Unbelievers (everyone else) to make a scapegoat (Jews or Liberals or Gays or all three) and to punish that scapegoat with God's Righteous Wrath.

They have been doing so since Christianity became a State Religion in 330 AD.

THIS is why the Foundign Fathers created the Old American Republic as they did. THIS is why the Imperial Busheviks have been dismantling and destroying the same Constitution, because it intereferes with their use of the Nazi/Totalitarian/Authoritarian/Religious Fundamnetalist Agenda of the crushing of Liberal Democracy.

And the Nazis, up until the last couple years, were the Standard-Bearers of Fundamentalist Christian Tradition (going back to the Witch Burners, naturally)

3. It's kind of like what Sy Hersh said the other day...
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 01:31 PM by parasim
when he spoke at Hampden-Sydney College last week:

He said "we are in very deep trouble", the war is lost as we are waging it, cannot be won by force, we are "playing chess" they are "playing GO"...

on edit: i know you were talking about Kerry and Bush, whereas Hersh was referring to the West and the Middle East...

5. Thats just a bad reading of the situation.
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 01:34 PM by K-W
It implies that this is a situation the parties elected themselves into. The free will explenation of politics. It misses the truth, which is that that an organized group of right wingers and wealthy crackpots has changed the structure of institutions, organizations, information flow, social conventions and language.

The democrats arent playing a different game because they are slow and stupid, they are playing a different game because they arent allowed to play the game the republicans are playing. They dont have the resources or access to play those games.

Are we really arguing that the right answer for this situation is that Kerry become a facist?

4. Kerry's sound bytes are quite vicious and personal.
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 01:32 PM by Jim Sagle
"World of fantasy" vs. "world of reality." "Living in Fantasyland." He's invoking the thought that w's nutz, without bluntly saying so.

It's subliminal messaging, and Kerry's quite good at it. I remember this line from his acceptance speech: "What if we have a President who believes in science?"
