Radio station drops CBS feed
Norfolk broadcaster cites listener anger over Bush report

BY SONJA BARISIC
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Sep 24, 2004

NORFOLK A news-talk radio station in southeastern Virginia has dumped CBS News because of listener outrage over Dan Rather's "60 Minutes" report questioning President Bush's National Guard service.

WNIS switched yesterday to ABC News, after at least a dozen years with CBS.

"We had so much outcry from our listeners. They were calling and complaining and saying they wouldn't listen to a CBS newscast anymore," said Lisa Sinclair, general manager of Sinclair Communications, which owns WNIS and four other stations in the Norfolk area, home to the world's largest naval base.

3. Hey I live in tidewater.
I was on WNIS when I was running for House of Delegates. Tony McCriny show. I think I'll write a letter of complaint. Maybe we can hold a protest outside with signs that say if CBS must go so must Rush.

5. This ultra radical right wing radio station caters to the Military,
Norfolk and Virginia Beach is the home of the worlds largest Naval Base and Naval Air Station, the mouth breathing knuckle dragger's who listen to this station are a very small but vocal group of un-employed and retired military, the same ones call in all the time, and they hate everything and everybody. If you listen to this station for more than five minutes you would need a barf bag big time.

I live in Virginia beach by the way.
