When Dems win the White House should Fox News be allowed in?
Or should they be covering the White House from the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Avenue?

I think I know the vote of most people here.

I do wonder, however, it JK (or any other mainstream Dem) would have the edocrinal endowement to declare them a non-news organization.

I mean, would the RNC be able to get press credentials?

1. A Kerry White House will let them in, but make them take
the seat Helen Thomas has had to sit in since the chimps sent her to the back of the classroom, er, briefing room.

3. roger ailes and rupert murdoch.....
...and the rest of the fascist boot lickers (i.e. hannity, o'reilly, etc) should be imprisoned for giving aid and comfort to the fascists (i.e. bush, rove, cheney, et al)

18. That's kind of the way I'm leaning.
The propaganda is quite overt, the treasonous acts well established. There is no question as to culpability.

I would think that the sanctions should be much more severe than banishment from the Whitehouse press room. Fire ants would be nice.

10. fox news isn't really a news channel....
....so why should they be taken seriously? they should be treated as if they were comedy central or some other non-news cable network.

in fact the daily show is more credible as a news source than anything on fox news.

20. Me? No, I do not.
I was a working journalist for a decade.

I know that if you don't want to talk to them, you don't have to. If you don't want to issue them credentials, you don't have to.

Actually, what bothers me is the pretense of objectivity. That, together with consolidation, have pretty much destroyed the Fourth Estate in this country.

I would prefer a media more on the European model (or even the nineteenth century American model) where there was a balance of partisan media on each side.

Until we get there, it's time to play hardball.

Now, if you're talking about the people who want to put Hannity in camps, well, that's another problem with no easy solution.

No, I don't want to put the 20 million Limbaugh listeners in political reducation camps. But what do you *do* with these people, who have a view of the world so warped that I no longer consider them to be Americans?

6. They'll be treated as any other "news" channel.
But I guarantee that any perceived discimination on the part of FNC, e.g. when obviously partisan questions are asked at press briefings and the comm. director makes a joke, they'll try to turn it into a scandal. It'll be hilarious.

13. Only if they dress appropriately
Since they are nothing but a bunch of whiny little cry-babies, I would suggest they wear adult diapers and have to suck on pacifiers in the press room.

If they don't try to run at least a little balance, they should be last to receive information.

for CNN, MSNBC and all the rest of the so-called media.

19. No, they should not be allowed in.
And Rush should be removed from Armed Forces Radio, too.

They are not news organizations. They are conservative propaganda outlets, no more respectable than the Enquirer.
