What are good sodas for Progressives?
There is a great progressive pizza place out here with signs up for Kerry and everything...but they sell Carlyle soda(Dr. Pepper and the like). My guess is they don't know, and might not care, but I would like to bring it up...but if I brought it up I'd like to be able to offer the best alternatives and I can't. Any suggestions?

Not only do they give all their political money to the repubs, but if you do a search on pepsi and Burma, you get stories about how they funded a militaristic government in order to put the little Burmese tomato farmers out of business.

11. Dr. Pepper is
affiliated with Carlyle? Why hasn't someone told me? I have been drinking it for ages--the diet soda actually tastes like regular which is rare. Damn--I have to give it up now. I'm glad I at least found out--better late than never I guess.

12. Carlyle soda

I don't know the extent of their investment. If anyone that knows more about big money shell games can explain the extent of Carlyle's investment in Dr. Pepper, it would be appreciated.

13. Isn't Dr Pepper owned by Cadbury/Schweppes?
Vernor's Ginger Ale is also in the same family of products. That is the oldest ginger Ale in the US. The best in my opinion.

14. Hansens
A touch more expensive, generally found in natural foods stores, but I have found some sixpacks in stores like Vons and WinDixie, and places like Costco and Smart and Final will occasionally carry the 24 pack flats for a comparable price to Coke and Pepsi.

They make great gingerale, and use splenda and/or fructose as their diet soda sweeteners. Unfortunately, they don't have a straight "cola" (it's a vanilla cola) and they don't carry some of their flavors in diet.

They also do "smoothies" and juices.
