It's a juicy rumor for some, but a tragedy for Jim Bunning (R-Ky).
This is the rumor floating around Kentucky:

Does Kentucky Senate Bunning has Alzheimer?

by kypublius

Given the strange behavior of republican Senator Jim Bunning, here in Kentucky there has been alot of stories about, whether Bunning is suffing from Alzheimer or other kind of illness, its even had make it in one of the local papers here.

http://www.state-journal.com/article.php?pathToFile=/articles/news/&file=_news1.txt&article= 1&tD=

Former Gov. Julian Carroll says U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning needs to clear up widespread rumors that he's in ill health.

During a Q&A interview with The State Journal Thursday, Carroll, a Democratic candidate for the state Senate, said he had mentioned rumors of Bunning "having an ailment" at a Wednesday evening fund-raiser in Frankfort for Dan Mongiardo, a state senator and the Democratic candidate challenging Republican Bunning, for the U.S. Senate seat.

"We've all heard the rumors about Jim Bunning having an ailment," Carroll said in the interview. "The rumors have increased by the day. Yet, we don't know whether they are true or not. If they are true, the people of Kentucky need to know it. And if they are not true, the people of Kentucky need to know it."

..............

If it is true, then my thoughts go out to the family, even though I never liked Bunning.
It smacks of dirty politics, but nothing worse that Rove on an uninspired day.

BTW, the link in the body of the above story is out of date, and a password is needed to look for the story.

1. when Generals Clark and Hoar
testified before the Senate Armed Services committee in Oct 2002 Bunning was absolutely obnoxious in his questions to them. He sounded like he was in trouble then. Bad Karma

2. What behaviors is he showing?
I didn't read the article. It's a shame if he has Alzheimer's, but if it's true, he should withdraw.

4. He's acted irrational at times.
a few months ago he was convinced that al Qaeda was out to get him. He wanted extra Secret Service protection while campaigning. He refused to debate, then when he did accept a debate, he refused to have it before an audience.

As yet, I have not heard anything of substance on this rumor. I will pass on anything I know.

5. Dan Mongiardo
does not seem like the kind of man that would support this.

6. It was Carroll that mentioned it.
Dr Dan had no part in it as far as I know.

Ernie Fletcher is Dr Dan's best ally.

We have seen a lot of new Democrats because of Ernie Flatulence.

7. I love that cartoon!
Fletcher is now HATED by much of Kentucky because of how he screwed over state workers, mainly teachers. He cuts their pay AND raises their health insurance premiums. All this after he ran his gubernatorial campaign on a promise to end government corruption and fix Kentucky's economy by cutting goverment waste. I haven't liked him since his all out smear campaign against his Democratic opponent Ben Chandler. He is an embarressment to the state of Kentucky! When he was inagurated, he had the worst 5:00 shadow I've ever seen, plus there was that whole helicopter mess at the Capitol Building.

And about Jim Bunning, I wouldn't be surprised. He compared Dan Mongiardo to Usay and Quday Hussain. Bunning used his position on the VA Committee to get himself into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He and Mitch McConnell are both whores to big tobacco and are very corrupt.

11. I hated what he did to Scorsone, the lies, the whispering campaign.
There are not many people in government as caring as Ernesto Scorsone.

BTW, my cousin is a state Representative from Louisville. She's a good Democrat.

One reason Fletcher won was the millions pumped in by the RNC.

8. What I've read doesn't seem like Alzheimers..
.. the paranoia and attacking behaviors, sounds more like a mental illness. If he has a disease, then I'm sorry for him and his family. If it will impede him in his work, he should bow out.
