Posts on evolution prohibited at FR
Just saw this post from a moderator on 9/21:

New visitors to FreeRepublic should be aware that creationism is usually challenged -- quite vigorously -- on this website. However, most of the conservative, science-literate FReepers we've contacted who accept the validity of evolution, and who actively explain and justify that topic on this website, feel that the debate may distract us from the critical issues facing both this website and our nation during these final weeks of the campaign.
Therefore (unless we learn of something new and genuinely important which absolutely must be posted), we have declared a unilateral moratorium on posting new threads and flogging old ones in the ongoing creation/evolution debate, until after the election is decided. The debate will resume in earnest after the celebration of Kerry's humiliating defeat. We urge the other side of the debate to join us in making this moratorium, and Bush's victory, a reality.

Guess they can't take the heat from non-fundies.

3. How about flat earth dicussions?
It's really disturbing that there are more than 3 or 4 people on earth that think the way these lunatics do. No wonder the world is going to hell in a handbasket.

13. pesky dinoasurs............................
The answer to the dinosaur question was on the front page of my local paper early last week.

--VALLEY VIEW -- If a living, breathing dinosaur is found today scientists would call it a "living fossil" instead, according to a speaker Tuesday night. It is the changing nature of science that inspired Dr. Thomas Sharp to teach what he considers to be the unchanging truth -- The biblical account of creation.

As part of a series of speeches at Valley View Elementary School Old Gym, Sharp discussed two subjects: "Were dinosaurs on the Ark?" and "The influence of Darwinism in the 20th Century." About 100 people, children and adults, attended the presentation. Receiving many "amens" and nods of approval from those in attendance, Sharp debunked evolution (the theory that humans gradually developed from less intelligent lifeforms over the course of millions of years) and promoted the Bible's account of man being created by God on the sixth day of the seven-day week of creation.

------------

In his next speech, Sharp spoke about the chief founder of the modern theory of evolution, Charles Darwin. Sharp said Darwin's theories have been used to discredit the Bible's account of creation, most notably in colleges and universities. He said Darwin's works inspired not only a move among many scientists to reject the concept of a Creator, but also the founders of Communism to promote a societal system to further the evolution of man. He noted a letter was written to Darwin from Karl Marx. Marx said his concept of a collective society was inspired by Darwin's writings, dedicating a copy of his "Das Kapital" to the British scientist. Sharp then began to speak in a more evangelistic tone.

If mrbill had written this article it would have been more along the lines of WTF is with the school. Think the fundies rented the gym after hours but displayed the toy dinosaurs at the real school.

Damn fundies.

4. so in other words, after they return $hrubco to power, then they'll
deal with the folks that have a problem with creationalism? "Soon as we elect gee-dubya, we're gonna kick your evolutionary ass!"

And my personal favorite "...creationalism is usually challenged..."

10. It can't
the similarity of * andd a chimp demonstrates that * is the descendant of the chimp. "Descend' generally being understood to mean "going lower."

11. Question
I wonder if the Freepers are not absolute proof of evolution? This is where the culls of the Human genome go who are doomed to never evolve.

12. Interesting.
The first reference to the election outcome frames it in terms of Kerry's defeat. So they are more concerned about "humiliating" Kerry than electing *.

Before anyone makes the comparison to dems and *, WE'VE lived w/ the monkey and his minions for four horrid years...I would imagine that the only MA senator discussed at length on FR prior to the primaries was Kennedy. Yet so much hate for Kerry has already been instilled in them by the RW media (partially to avoid defending *'s indefensible record), his defeat is priority #1.
