Know your BFEE: Vote Suppressor Supreme, the Turd Bill Rehnquist
Chief Justice William the Traitor Rehnquist didn’t start denying Americans their right to vote in 2000. He has a history of making certain the white kind of voters get their say since 1964, at least…

doing his damndest to impeach a DEM.

Just our Bill

By Dennis Roddy
Saturday, December 02, 2000

Lito Pena is sure of his memory. Thirty-six years ago he, then a Democratic Party poll watcher, got into a shoving match with a Republican who had spent the opening hours of the 1964 election doing his damnedest to keep people from voting in south Phoenix.

"He was holding up minority voters because he knew they were going to vote Democratic," said Pena.

The guy called himself Bill. He knew the law and applied it with the precision of a swordsman. He sat at the table at the Bethune School, a polling place brimming with black citizens, and quizzed voters ad nauseam about where they were from, how long they'd lived there -- every question in the book. A passage of the Constitution was read and people who spoke broken English were ordered to interpret it to prove they had the language skills to vote.

By the time Pena arrived at Bethune, he said, the line to vote was four abreast and a block long. People were giving up and going home.

SNIP…

Party leaders told him not to get physical, but this was the second straight election in which Republicans had sent out people to intellectually rough up the voters. The project even had a name: Operation Eagle Eye.

3. That sounds right -- Rehnquist the Psycho
Wouldn't surprise me to discover the guy to be a psychopathic personality -- like his unelected sock puppet, the moron George Bush.

I Love You, Madame Librarian

By Kurt Vonnegut

EXCERPT...

And on the subject of burning books: I want to congratulate librarians, not famous for their physical strength or their powerful political connections or their great wealth, who, all over this country, have staunchly resisted anti-democratic bullies who have tried to remove certain books from their shelves, and have refused to reveal to thought police the names of persons who have checked out those titles.

So the America I loved still exists, if not in the White House or the Supreme Court or the Senate or the House of Representatives or the media. The America I love still exists at the front desks of our public libraries.

And still on the subject of books: Our daily sources of news, papers and TV, are now so craven, so unvigilant on behalf of the American people, so uninformative, that only in books can we find out what is really going on. I will cite an example: House of Bush, House of Saud by Craig Unger, published near the start of this humiliating, shameful blood-soaked year.

In case you haven’t noticed, and as a result of a shamelessly rigged election in Florida, in which thousands of African Americans were arbitrarily disenfranchised, we now present ourselves to the rest of the world as proud, grinning, jut-jawed, pitiless war lovers, with appallingly powerful weaponry and unopposed.

In case you haven’t noticed, we are now almost as feared and hated all over the world as the Nazis were.

With good reason.

2. I'm not surprised...
Rehnquist has been a fascist goon from the beginning. When the Supremes decide a case you could always tell who won without even reading the opinion by who wrote it -- if it was Rehnquist you'd always know that the criminal defendant or civil rights litigant lost the case. (The same rule is also true for Scalia and Thomas). The robe thing is hilarious -- he designed it himself after seeing a Gilbert and Sullivan play. Then he took a $30,000 tax deduction for donating the robe he wore during Clinton's impeachment.

BTW, Jon Stewart's new book has a hilariously awful (photoshopped) picture of all the Supreme Court justices naked. You can cut out pictures of their robes and paste them on them to restore their dignity. Rehnquist gets the robe with the gold stripes, of course.

4. Thanks for the heads-up: Kerry saw through the Turd Rehnquist...
... As a freshman Senator, John Kerry voted against Rehnquist's elevation to Chief "Justice." Seems the Senator has the ability to see through this turd's robes. Then again, anybody with more than half a brain doesn't need X-Ray vision to know the guy's a crook. For goodness sake, the crook Nixon got him on the court. Ugh.

These clowns foisted the unelected moron George Bush on America.

Great info, ocelot! Thank you for letting us know about the tax dodge. No wonder the tax evaders and money launderers of the world consider the law abiding tax payers mopes. Gee. That's what Rehnquist calls those little people, his losing litigants.

8. If Eagle Eye is such a G&S fan, there is a more appropriate uniform...

He's no "Prisoner of Love," but it DOES have the right stripes.

7. Turd Rehnquist: ! "Good luck. You're going to need it."
Wow! Thanks for the important reminder. The demented and drug-addled turd let the VRWCat out of the bag. May his health hold out long enough for his prosecution.

BTW: A hearty welcome to DU, CoffeeAnnan!
I look forward to reading your posts!
And in the best sense: Good luck!
