This LTTE kicks ass
No right to smirk

09/24/2004

To the editor:
As a Vietnam era vet, I have to say it makes my blood boil to hear George Bush trash the military record of a man who actually served his enlistment, experienced combat, was wounded several times and won a Silver Star. John Kerry did all of this in a place other than Texas. This president has a knack for using amoral people to do his dirty work for him, and it really suits him. His character has always been in question. Our smirking, draft dodging president doesn't have the right to question anyone's credibility as far as I'm concerned, especially their military credentials. Send him packing November 2nd and let's get this country back on the path of economic stability, world respect and most importantly, self respect. It's not too late, he hasn't ruined us completely yet.

Tom Linda

1. Most excellent!
Tom Linda, you kick ass! This whole fiasco about Kerry's military credentials has me thinking the same thing. I heard Hannity call Kerry a wimp the other day. Hello! Kerry only volunteered to go to Vietnam you jackass! And Bush was the wimpy one by having his daddy pull strings to get him into the guard.

2. Ya know
when Al Gore ran against Bush they never attacked Gore for his military service that I remember and Gore volunteered and was a photographer. They could have said he was a coward and avoided combat by taking the job of a journalist but they didn't. Maybe there was some negative stuff but nothing like what they are doing to John Kerry. It's bizzare. I guess because he was heroic they had to tear that heroicism down. It baffles the mind.

Good letter.

4. A Quick Note About Al Gore's Service.
Actually, they did criticize Al Gore's military service.
The chickenhawks all were screaming about the fact that Gore was merely a photographer, and essentially not a combatant in Viet Nam, therefore he really wasn't in harm's way. (repug's dumbass opinion)

I remember being incensed by the remarks of the repug arseholes.

6. When
Maybe I missed it, but when has Bush trashed Kerry war record? This whole service thing is getting out of control. Time to focus on here and now.

7. Bush hasn't questioned Kerry's war record.
Instead he let surrogates do the dirty work without ever mobilizing the Republican party to put a stop to it. Obviously Mr Bush has seen "A few good men" many times, and ordered a political 'code red'.

8. Have you been paying attention?
Bush lacks the balls to trash Kerry's war record. He does what Bushes do in every election they have ever run. They send out a team of bottom-dwelling surrogates to smear anyone who opposes them: see Dukakis, Michael; Richards, Ann; McCain, John; Gore, Al; Cleland, Max; and now its JFK's turn.
