4 Hurricanes in 6 weeks, God is telling Florida something
I say we circulate letters telling Florida's "Christian" (note the quotation's} population that we have had "WORD FROM GOD" {He called collect I may add, Damn Him}, that the Hurricanes are His Wrath for cooking the books on the last election. Or better yet, lets circulate that G.W.participated in a Black Mass to kill Jeb, hence the Hurricanes.

Oh, and a side note, every time they burn books, lets burn Bibles!

I'm not anti-God {no hate mail please} just anti-ignorance and intolerance

31. i've already seen the blame the victim suggestions about Haiti
The media is playing it very hard that the deaths in Haiti are caused by deforestation. Hmmm. Like I'm sure the poor people caught in the mud slides are the ones who profited from the removal of all the trees. I have a hard enough time fighting the removal of all the trees where I live, and it's a battle you can't win, because the developers will not stop while a tree is still standing anywhere.
I guess one day when we are washed away in a mud slide the press will be all "it's their fault for cutting down the trees" even though only a minority actually wanted and profited from it.

Sigh...! Karma is a lie, all I can say.

The trees were cut down to make charcoal to power the cooking pots. No great corporate scandals here.

9. Worse off
There will be a definite slant in responses to the "Are you better off today than four years ago question?"

I'm sure that question will be omitted from a lot of Republican-leaning polls.

10. I said this same thing to my friend, just yesterday
I have been giving her a hard time about all the frightening headlines about Jeanne, since that's also my friend's name, LOL! But I told her that God must be very angry at Florida. And He has good reason to be. The only good thing to come out of all this tragedy was that Joe Scarborough is in Palm Beach, reporting on this for MSNBC, and Jeanne almost blew him into the water, LOL!

Amazing that anyone is taking that map seriously, let alone the idea of a vengeful sky-god more suited for the Bronze Age.

14. Oh yeah, that a really swell idea there pal
Let's be like Jerry Falwell, only instead of blaming 911 on gays and lesbians, we'll blame hurricanes or Floridians since they voted Republican:eyes: All because an invisible sky entity told us that these were messages from God.

Look friend, this is is umpteenth Yuk Yuk, let's blame the victims for the hurricanes post I've seen at DU, and this latest one is just as disgusting as the first. There are real people suffering and dying down there, and many of us have relatives and friends there. If you want to engage in mental masturbation, go somewhere else. This type of thinking SHOULD be below someone who is supposed to be as enlightened and inttelligent as Dems are, but apparently that isn't the case. Nice to see we've got our own fair share of jackasses.

Oh, and just for your own information, when the actual recount was completed, Democrats won in Florida, it was simply that Bushco and the Supreme Court who took that victory away, over the weak resistance of the Democratic leadership. So why hasn't God punished the Supreme Court and the DNC leadership?

It may be cold here in New England but at least we dont have to rebuild our houses every two weeks

of PEOPLE suffering there.

Anyway, the point I was trying to illustrate was that saying "God is trying to tell us something" is lame.

34. Yes, this may be lame, and way too easy to say
Especially since we all know that Gore did win Florida. We were told this several times before the Supreme Court got involved. Everyone is suffering in Florida, they really can't take anymore of this, and my heart goes out to anyone who is living in Florida under these terrible conditions.;(

19. Four hurricans to hit in Florida...
That's one hurricane for each year this country has suffered through the Bush administration. Florida is the reason Bush stole office. Wrath of God!

Plus other Bush country got hit...Georgia and Frances hit Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisianna.

20. Glad you're one of God's good buddies.
There's still time this hurricane season for a good storm to make it to Texas. What if it hits Beaumont?

It's crap like this that gives Christians bad names. I'm really tired of these "God's vengeance" threads.

22. Christians have a bad name in my book. For allowing their leaders
to allow the murdering of people.(aka the Iraqi war crime) And lie about it and act like it is ok to do so. Freedom of speech is a real bitch. I know. The so called christians in my family have a hard time with mine. But I tell them they can move to another country where it is not allowed. I will help them pack their bags. I guess they would miss Rush Liebaugh too much. They have not left yet.

21. Here's some information in your "anti-ignorance" crusade
The hurricanes are highly discriminatory, as poor and working classes suffer the most. God must really hate them.
Ya think?

Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 02:21 PM by Joanne98
Welcome to DU. Great brains think alike. i was going to post a "letter from GAWD" last night but I had company. I was thinking about something like this....

Title: GOD HATES THE BUSH FAMILY

I AM GOD! I have a message for all you Florida Republicans. You are stealing the vote from my favorite children, the Jews and the blacks.
You did it in 2000 and you're doing it again. This is an abomination in my eyes... You send me prayers for the "UNCLEAN THING" George Bush. Because of this I will send you hurricanes until you REPENT of this EVIL. You will have no electricity to run your EVIL voting machines with. I will destroy your expensive homes and leave you PENNILESS... REPENT REPENT AND SIN NO MORE.....Before it's TOO LATE......

they're so crazy they'll probably believe it. hee hee....

30. TV reporter, "Jeb Bush is standing defient and not packing up."
I swear I heard this last night on the news. Are we a country of idiots? Like the reporters have nothing else to say? Who would ever think it takes moral courage to be a governor and do the job you're supposed to do. Does anyone expect a governor of a state to run away?

With that said and the total ridiculus studio report, they go to FL to show the Jeb tape. He looked like such a beaten coward. You could see in his face, body language and tone he was incompetent and give up.

Did anyone else see Jeb in this news conference?

Are we a country of idiots?

32. Sigh. Everytime something happens in California
Jerry Falwell or one of the other TV preachers claims that it is God's judgement on gay people.

A better use of our time and energy is to point out that we have limited resources in the United States to help people recover from natural disasters - which are a natural part of the world - since we sent our military, National Guard, and billions of dollars to wage war halfway around the globe.

A simple question to ask voters: Which is a better use of resources - fighting "terrorist" bogeymen across the globe, or helping people recover from natural disasters? Ask the guy with his house scattered all over the block where he would prefer to have the National Guard.
