Please excuse my ignorance -- what is LTTE?

Please excuse my ignorance -- what is LTTE?
People keep using this acronym with Bush. When I google ltte and bush, I get the name of the terrorist group, liberation tigers of tamil elam of sri lanka. Am I missing something obvious?
