HaHaHaHa -LOL-- Kitty Kelly's index entry: Shrub, personality!!!

I bought Kitty Kelly's The Family yesterday and rather than actually read it cover to cover like a good smart boy, I went for the juicy parts by mining the index. But the index itself is HILARIOUS, just for the listing of subject matter!!!

Here is the list of entries, under:

Bush, George Walker, PERSONALITY: academic mediocrity and lack of intellect,... adolescent-like behavior,... alcohol and drug abuse,... arrogance and lack of compassion,... bad-boy status,... born-again evangelism,... charism,... credibility and integrity, problems,... discipline and strict regimen,... DUI arrest,... fatalism,... hyperactivity,...

It goes on and on. The ratio of evil and brain damage related characteristics to positive characteristics is about 10:1.

I mean there might be some naughty bits in it, but it doesn't seem all that trustworthy a book.

Actually, it's very well documented--much better than, say, Woodward's recent books, and in fact probly better than the original Woodward/Bernstein WaPo reports.

I'm just saying I've read interviews with her and I haven't been impressed.

6. Better than I expected

I'm in the middle, where W just starts Yale, and Dad is elected to Congress.

Much more informative and balanced than I thought it would be. Sure there's juicy parts, but the overall veracity is there, even if a couple of details are in question.

I recommend it highly as an entertaining way to learn about the place in the rightward swing of govt the Bushes hold.

7. Detailed notes, bibliography, acknowledgement and index

If you haven't looked through it yet and
just are getting your impression from
GETV interviews, then you have a wrong impression.

This book is very detailed. More so than
most Woodward books I've read.
