Did anyone else see this on MTP?
The show led off with an interview with Gen Abizaid. Coming out of a screen shot of a map showing where the "no-go" zones are, Little Russ asked Abazaid if an assault on these cities would take place after the U.S election. As Russert was setting up the question, Abazaid clearly gulped, looked down, and was in mid-gulp again when he began to answer the question. (The cut-aways were really bad in this interview, I thought).

I watched this several times to make sure, and became convinced that Abazaid did not want to hear this question. He gave the party line response he was expected to give, but his expression and body language were much more telling to me than the words he spoke.

1. I didn't watch it but my wife had it on and kept saying "Answer the
fucking questions!"

It's 24/7 Information Warfare now.

2. Abizaid looked nearly catatonic to me. Does he blink?
As with most of the members of Team Bush, he was trying to stick to his pre-determined talking points. It was like watching the 'Stepford General.'

3. I had it on but only actually watched a little bit
But during the little bit I paid attention to, my overriding thought was, "How must it feel to sit there utterly bereft of principle, truth, integrity or honor?"

4. Abizaid looked like he was reading a teleprompter.
His eyes were so shifty, darting from side to side while he spoke, and it seemed that he never really looked directly at the camera...

5. He did slam Bush and Armitage--
Bush on his remarks that our enemies were emboldened by debate, and Armitage on his "Shake and Bake" description of Iraqi Security forces.
