Whitewater - Need link re: Hillary's involvement
stating her guilt or lack of guilt for my Republican neighbor. I'm not knowledgeable about Whitewater. My neighbor requires newspaper links to back up all of my claims pertaining to Bush, Kerry, etc. I've been able to find articles to back up all of my claims however I know little about Whitewater. Would appreciate any help with this one. Thanks.

13. Amazes me
that people will spend all that time and effort to discover and REdiscover that the Clinton's simply lost money on a legitimate business deal, but they won't lift a finger to look at how much money Bush and Cheney have personally made by invading Iraq.

4. Ken Starr spent years and hundreds of millions investigating this
He came up with nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Why are you arguing about Whitewater? Perhaps your time could be better spent registering people to vote. Just a thought.

8. Get the Hunting of the President by Conason and Lyons - it will
give you the whole story really fast if you can take the time to read that part of the book - you'll have time frames and sources and most importantly you will learn that the U.S. Government had already cleared the Clintons before Scaife and Starr and the Fed Soc and thousands of others attempted to create a crime. The Dept unter the Govt is one that I can never remember....Resolution Trust out of Kansas City and Washington? The final Starr report showed no crime though they tried to word it to imply one - it came out at the very end of the Clinton Presidency. Poor Starr was a slow writer and he kept breaking the points on his pencil (out of regret for his inability to create and convict for Watergate or the other gates, but he was successful in misusing his firm and legal ethics to set a trap for Clinton).

Also look for the columns of Gene Lyons writing for the Arkansas Gazette and Joe Conason writing for The New York Observer and Salon if you want the details at the time.

Yes, Google will give you more than you can ever read, but you have to know who the author is - that is essential. Absolutely essential.

9. Why bother? Seriously, even as a distraction, what's the point?
She's been completely vindicated, after the Starr Regime spent 87 MILLION dollars finding out she was guilty and culpable of NOTHING illegal.

10. Such an inquisitive Republican neighbor!
Apparently they've got questions on the SwiftBoat liars & the Niger yellowcake, as well.

What specific points have they made that you need to refute? Since you're asking for links, surely they've provided you with some.

Why are they asking about this? Neither of the Clintons is running this year.

14. My Republican Neighbor
Quite frustrating dealing with someone who is brainwashed by the Republican media. Our conversation went all over the place. He claimed I didn't know what I was talking about and I would have to back up my claims with articles. He started by saying that Dan Rather should be fired for airing the segment that he ended up apologizing for dealing with the authenticity of the National Guard memos. Then I brought up the SOTU address and the Niger yellowcake. From there we went to Iraq, the SwiftBoat liars and the Bush S&L scams, baseball team, etc. He started trashing Hillary and brought up her involvement in Whitewater which he claimed was the same as the Bush financial scams. I'm not planning to waste my time dealing with this guy in the future however I wanted to find articles to address his comments and support my position.

11. Even if the Clintons were involved with Jim McDougal
in the land deal......uh, so what? Nobody got hurt, no one died, and big fucking whoop.... The Clintons LOST (L O S T) money on the deal! Was it worth 87 million dollars of taxpayer money to investigate Whitewater? You tell me.

Now, here are the facts on Bush:

Tied to Halliburton and the Carlyle Group, two of the handful of multinational corpoarations/organizations to BENEFIT from the 9/11 tragedy and the Iraq War
Lied to the Nation in order to go to war in which over a thousand Americans were killed
Allowed 9/11 to happen on his watch
Used friends in the Supreme Court to steal the presidency from the rightful winner, Al Gore
Has been the president of more than three failed oil companies. One of which, Harken, somehow found itself the beneficiary of Saudi investors (nothing fishy there, right?)
Allowed an administration member to out the identity of a CIA agent
Lied about Iraq possessing WMD's
Lied about Iraq purchasing yellowcake from Niger
Used his father's influence to get him anywhere in life (you really think he woulda gotten into YALE without daddy's pull? Come on.)
Has the worst environmental record of any modern president
Has the least transparency of any president
Has gone on vacation more than any president
Was AWOL from the TANG during Vietnam
Was an alcoholic and a drug abuser
Allowed the Anthrax killer to get away
Allowed Osama Bin Laden to get away (AFTER 9/11: don't start that "Clinton let Osama get away" bullshit)

Now somebody, somewhere, PLEASE tell me how Clinton was worse than this guy, in concrete terms (not abstractions, like "well, now my kids know about sex because of Clinton!" or "He created a permissive atmosphere!" OR "He got a blowjob (consensual) and LIIIIEEED about it!") All you guys have on Clinton are ABSTRACTIONS and PETTY GREIVANCES.
