Celebration day! Been 30 days CNN, cable, network news free
I blocked several "news" channels from my cable box the day before the repug convention.

Wolfe who?
Tweety? I saw him teasing a big black cat on saturday morning cartoons.
Crowley? Wasn't she in Hairspray?
Mathews? I had a highball last night.
Cafferty? . . . . drawing a blank . . . .
O'Reilly? Oh yea, he's on that tabloid show Inside Edition, right?
Scarborough? Is he in jail yet - Damn, I'll miss the murder trial on Court TV.

Polls? I polled my son's soccer team last night - the team name Red Hot Chili Peppers won by 75%!!!

Thanks to Google news, my local access TV / state and city council meeting updates, BBC , C-SPAN, and the Daily Show, I feel more prepared for my Nov votes than ever.

Wooooo, Hoooooo - Try it!

1. Gave up all cable news last year
I used to watch 4-6 hours a day.

I don't miss it one bit.

2. Yesterday was my first day
with no cable news. I am much happier. My question is do you plan to watch the debates?

4. Yes - I'll watch the debates on C-Span
I check CSPAN scheduling daily at http://www.c-span.org/

I will not watch the pundit response after the debates.

3. I get most of my news from
stations on my xm radio, haven't sat and watched the news for more than 5 minutes in over 8 months.

Now if I even catch a glimpse of it, It pisses me off so much becuase I KNOW (thanks to the internet and blogs) that what they are reporting is biased and un true.

10. Congrats! I've been 10 years free!!!
I get my news from newspapers and the internet only. I can't stomach broadcast news, or any broadcast programming... The only newsish thing I watch on Cable is The Weather Channel and CSPAN. After working in an NBC affiliate news station, I know how they work and what a joke they are.

Good luck to you!!! Reading is the way to go for news!!!
