Can anyone debunk this RW e-mail?
Here's the text:

-----------------------------------------------------------
"Last Thursday I put out one of my Bush/Cheney signs in my front yard. Between midnight and 3 a.m. someone stole it. On Friday night I put out sign No. 2. Since I didn't have to get up early, I thought my dog and I would "stake out" our sign. This time I put the sign a little closer to the gate leading to my backyard. With my dog on an extra long leash, I planted myself on a lawn chair and read 'Unfit for Command' by flashlight until about 1 a.m. Here comes the fun part.... I noticed that the car coming down the street was slowing down and pulling over to the curb right next to my yard. Sure enough, he gets out of his car and heads right for my sign. Just as he was about to uproot and desecrate it, I opened my gate and let my dog make the initial introduction. As he ran to hide behind the rear end of his car, I promptly moved to the driver-side door, which was still open. It was a fairly nice car with power everything and still running. While my dog continued to 'introduce' herself, I rolled up the window and hit the power door lock button. With that, I slammed the door, grabbed my Bush sign and headed into the back yard.

"And now for the 'rest of the story.' About 40 minutes later, I heard a knock at the door. I opened the door to one of our city's finest... the Vancouver Police Department. The officer asked me what was going on and when I told him, he could not stop laughing. I followed him out to the perp's car and stood there while he asked the guy a few more questions. Upon learning that the guy lived a couple of streets down, I - knowing what was about to happen - asked him, 'Why do you have Oregon plates on your car if you live just down the street (here in Vancouver, Wash.)?'

Larry, Oregon has no sales tax, so often Washington residents will buy and register cars in Oregon to avoid paying sales tax... it's a crime and the fine is pretty stiff. Here comes the best part.... The look on this guy's face told me he knew he was about to get busted. When the officer asked for his license and registration, the 'Democrat' mumbled that (his license) was suspended.

Just for kicks and giggles I asked the officer if he smelled any alcohol coming from the guy. The officer looked at me, smiled and promptly gave him a field breathalyzer test. Guess what? You got it, he blew a .10, legally drunk in the state of Washington. "DUI, illegal registration and the brand of 'MORON,' all 'cause he hates Bush.

1. Why bother - "creative" lies is the essence of GOP emailers - ask for the
police report.

:-)

2. Sounds like he fell asleep while reading
'Unfit for Command', had a little wet dream, and woke to discover he's the same pathetic loser as when he went to sleep.

6. What's to debunk?
If they think the Republicans don't have their share (or more) of idiot sign vandals, they should be laughed out of the county.

But I also agree with the other poster: given the propensity for Republican e-mailers to pass on complete horseshit, have then produce the police report.

7. Its fake
a police officer doesn't need to be told to do a breathalizer.

17. I tell everyone that Duh'bya quit drinking because
he and Jeb accidently killed a hooker 1986. And the funny thing is people believe it. "Look, if your daddy is the Veep and former head of the CIA, of course he can make a body disappear."

12. Signs, Signs...
Hmmm... My neighbor put up a "My Kerry/Edwards Sign Was Stolen" sign after her sign was stolen. The next day, that sign was stolen. No word on whether or not she decided to wait up all night with her dog, reading Against All Enemies. Bet money Rush or Bill uses the story on their show.

Now before you get your panties in a bunch, the above story is false. It's based on another story that is a lie with bush*/cheney where Kerry/Edwards is above (and other topically appropriate changes). You have been sent this because I recieved some bullshit from you. I also sent this to everyone on your original e-mail list via "reply all". Please don't pass on crap like this, the bush*bots seem determined to deify their glorious misleader and it's through things like this that they try to tear down their opponent. Engage in a constructive dialog, don't just "forward" every piece of fantasy that comes across your computer. Just say no to bush* lies. Wake the fuck up and THINK for YOURSELF!!

End e-mail

Feel free to copy/adjust and most importantly - REPLY ALL!!

18. Beautimous! Thanks, Foe! :)
The only revision I'd make is changing "crappy car" to "crappy king-cab pickup."

....and maybe that the guy offered the cop a "personal breathalyzer" in exchange for letting him go.

15. How would you debunk it? Its just a story. Besides,
its not as though conservatives consider driving drunk to be a character flaw. If they did, I think they find Bush to be repulsive.

19. Try this on for size:
2000 election in Snohomish county.
Washington State Patrol Trooper and State Representative John Lovick is on patrol and spies a person apparently stealing campaign signs.
the Trooper stops the subject and sees the culprit has a John Lovick campaign sign in his hands....The Democrat-hater was noticeably surprised to be caught by the candidate.
Mr. Lovick called his campaign manager to pick up the campaign sign and return it to its place.

I wouldn't steal a Republican campaign sign or deface one.
Those signs idnicate where the mentally-challenged live!

21. How do you buy and register a car in a state you don't live in?
You'd have to have ID and an address to do it - seems to me a big waste of time to save a little on sales tax.

Also sounds like something a Repug would do before a Dem would.

23. I live there
and there are a lot of people who register cars in Oregon and live over here. Go through an apartment complex at night, and count the Oregon plates. But I don't know if most of them are Dems or Repugs.
