The Movie "Hijacking Catastrophe"
I just finished watching the movie Hijacking Catastrophe, put out by Media Education Foundation www.mediaed.org

I heard about the movie while listening to Thom Hartmann last week, I ordered it on line Friday last and it arrived today. Folks, this movie is the best political awareness documentary I have ever seen. I do not say this to defame either of these fine movies, but Hijacking Catastrophe makes Fahrenheit 911 and Outfoxed look like child's play. This is a very hard hitting movie that I can not give a high enough recommendation to. If its playing anywhere near you then you must go see it and if its not give a lot of thought to buying a copy. You will not be sorry you did.

1. Agree Completely, Saw It Last Friday Night In Dallas, TX
It is arguably the most succinct and powerful documentary of the season.

Would that all Americans see this movie the election would be mute - Kerry would win by acclimation

8. I was there too
Great movie. Covers the issues many ignore or gloss over. Chalmers Johnson, Noam Chomsky, Robert Jensen are among our best commentators and spokesmen. The movie needs more promotion. It should be seen by all

5. More people seem to be hearing about this movie
I predict that soon this will be the new Fahrenheit 911 - the new standard for people to see.

See for yourself. Substantial film clips are available at the movie website.

Don't wait - buy this movie - watch it - pass it around.

7. I ordered the DVD and have been watching it the last few days-
(the documentary is not that long but there are many many extended interviews with the likes of Karen Kwiatkowski, Scott Ritter, Stan Goff etc.)

SEE THIS DOCUMENTARY! If you can afford it, order it and share it with everyone you know. This is better than F911 and since it is not "mocking" (and not Michael Moore) it will be easier to get people to take an honest look at it. I cannot recommend it highly enough and I've seen F911 and bought Outfoxed and Uncovered. It is powerful and gut-wrenching. I don't know how *anyone* could vote for Bush after seeing this film.

14. LinkTV is Great! If you don't get it, I highly suggest writing and
calling your cable company, and strongly suggesting they subscribe to it!

If you looked at any of their upcoming videos while looking at the website, you can see there are some vry good videos highlighted.

Besides, Harry Belefonte advocates LinkTV. :)

13. Absolutely right. Also must see: "The End of Suburbia"
When you put "Outfoxed," "Hijacking Catastrophe," and "The End of Suburbia" together, you have a new paradigm of what is going on in this country. I suspect when you add Palasts "Bush Family Fortunes," which is being released in a day or so, it will be all sewn up.

16. Another movie to add to your list
The Media Education Foundation, the same organization that made "Hijacking Catastrophe," made another film called "Constructing Public Opinion: How Politicians and the Media Misrepresent the Public." Here is how the describe it:

"The media regularly use public opinion polls in their reporting of important news stories. But how exactly do they report them and to what end? In this insightful and accessible interview, Professor Justin Lewis demonstrates the way in which polling data are themselves used by the media to not just reflect what Americans think but instead to construct public opinion itself. Addressing vital issues (e.g., the role the media play in "manufacturing consent" for political elites, what polls really tell us about public opinion, what Americans actually think about politics), Constructing Public Opinion provides a new way to think about the relationship between politics, media and the public."

This one runs 32 minutes and is $29.95. If you're only going to get one movie, make it "Hijacking Catastrophe." But if you can swing it, this is a well presented expose of the damage being done to our society by media monopolies.
