Falwell Says Evangelical Christians Now In Control of Republican Party
"Falwell says evangelical Christians now in control of Republican Party

By Scott Shepard
Cox News Service
Sunday, September 26, 2004

WASHINGTON — The Rev. Jerry Falwell boasted Friday that evangelical Christians, after nearly 25 years of increasing political activism, now control the Republican Party and the fate of President Bush in the November election.

"The Republican Party does not have the head count to elect a president without the support of religious conservatives," Falwell said at an election training conference of the Christian Coalition.

Falwell said evangelical Christians are now "by far the largest constituency" within the Republican Party, their route to dominance beginning in 1979 with his founding of the Moral Majority, a precursor to the Christian Coalition.

"I tell my Republican friends who are always talking about the 'big tent," I say make it as big as you want to, but if the candidate running for president is not pro-life, pro-family ... you're not going to win," he added..."

10. Oh I want Falwell to go across the country
declaring the pugs to be the Christian party. Maybe then it will wake up those few Jews
who will vote for * because he claims to support Israel.

4. Everyone Remember This Statement?
"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America, I point the finger in their face and say: you helped this happen."

- Falwell talking about 9/11

I'm sure the majority of Americans are thrilled with the idea that these people are in control of our government right now.

Anyone want to send out some e-mails to some swing states about this?

5. Anti-Christ
I don't really believe in the revelation, but I think that Jerry, *, or Cheney are the Anti-Christ. They are trying to betray * as a prophet and one who talks to God. They are all crazy, and this really scares me. Religion is the only reason many vote and most don't care about anything else except what their religious leaders tell them. I have many fundie friends that keep sending me emails from Dobson and etc. about which politicians are marriage friendly. They have things out at my church about it. This is a very strong organization and I am worried about the effect it may have on this election. I keep trying to say how * is not like Jesus and can not be a man of God. I even bring up the Anti-Christ stuff. They almost have to be scared to change their mind.

6. It's One of The Reasons Why Bush Got A Lot of Votes In 2000
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 04:40 PM by InfoMinister
He catered to the Evangelist voters. I remember seeing a documentary they had on PBS about this. You can view the whole thing online.

Bush believes you're all going to burn in hell unless you're an evangelist like him. It talks about it in the second video I think.

14. Be Sure To Talk About His 9/11 Quotes
If you want to spread this message around make sure to tell people what he said right after 9/11. If they really are in control of this country it looks like Bush is going to have to start bombing pagans, gays, feminists, and other non-believers. They're the ones that really caused 9/11 after all.

13. Have you read the lyrics to "Onward Christian Soldiers" lately?
{{{shudder}}}

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.
Christ, the royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
See His banners go.

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.

At the sign of triumph
Satan's host doth flee;
On then, Christian soldiers,
On to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver
At the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise!

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.

Like a mighty army
Moves the Church of God.
Brothers, we are treading
Where the saints have trod;
We are not divided,
All one body we,
One in hope and doctrine,
One in charity.

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.

Crowns and thrones may perish,
Kingdoms rise and wane,
But the Church of Jesus
Constant will remain;
Gates of hell can never
'Gainst that Church prevail;
We have Christ's own promise,
And that cannot fail.

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.

Onward, then, ye people!
Join our happy throng!
Blend with ours your voices
In the triumph song!
Glory, laud and honor
Unto Christ the King;
This through countless ages
Men and angels sing.

Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.

15. This is bullshit. The money guys are still in charge.
However, in order to win elections they need to keep the redneck Fundies in line & voting for the Pardy uv Gawwwwd. So they tell them their leaders are running the Pug establishment the suckers buy it, the real powers try to keep a straight face in public, and things go on as usual. The rich get richer and the poor get dumber.

18. Spread It To As Many People As You Can
I mean Falwell has offended a lot of people over the years with his 9/11 comments. The majority of Christians do not behave in the way he does so even they'll be offended if they think someone like that actually has influence.

I know quite a few people that just think they're crackpots and don't have any influence at all. I think they'd be suprised at how many of these activist Christians there actually are.

23. I Don't Have A Problem With Christians
It just bothers me when anyone of any religion wants to force their religion on other people through government. I mean that's one reason why there is all of the beheadings and needless slaughter in countries where the Muslim extremists have taken over the government. Falwell talks about how making the US secular is so horrible. What does he want? The witch hunts, crusades, and barbaric slaughter that has plagued by almost every society that has been driven by Christian extremists?
