What would they look like today? Poll problems
1) They tend to include more republicans
2) They tend to overlook new voters and go after those who have voted before/are likely to vote, etc.
3) They use only land line numbers.
Why are these problems?
1) There are slightly more Dems out there than pukes.
2) New voters seem, at least this time, seem to be registering democratic in LARGE numbers in supposedly puke states.
3) Younger people-hell I am 30 and I fall into this category-tend to vote dem and often do not have landlines.
There are myriad other problems with the way polls are done. I would say that if you took the electoral-vote.com map, you could turn a lot of those white, pink-ringed, pink, and even red states to a bluer shade. After the debate Thursday, we will have to see what the outcome will be. Kerry is going to have to metaphorically vault the Great Wall of China in the debate and Shrub will just have to control his drooling to win. Watch for poor make-up and a doting staff of Media Bushistas to run the debates.
But all this aside, what do you think the map would look like today if a poll were suddenly done that reflected election day probablilities?
