Elections will be impossible in Iraq
If you were an Iraqi citizen, would you risk going to a polling place?

If you were an insurgent, wouldn't you target polling places, and thus scare the voters away.

I cannot see how elections can take place under any scenario. No one will vote.

1. Now, on Lou Dobbs Foud Ajami is saying that after our elections
they will have to go in and level Fallujah, and other towns. W has indeed opened the gates of Hell.

2. Not necessarily
If you were an insurgent, wouldn't you target polling places, and thus scare the voters away.

Not necessarily... "Insurgents" tend to attack foreign invaders (US troops), the invaders' infrastructure (supply convoys, oil pipelines) and mercenaries who serve the invaders (contractors, US trained Iraqi police/guardsmen). They are primarily interested in driving the foreign invaders out of Iraq. Contrary to what the Bush admin and American media like to babble on about, these people don't "hate freedom". They hate having foreign armies marching around their countries shooting them, dropping bombs on their loved ones, and stealing their natural resources.

That said, any national election that only takes place in select locations (where Donald Rumsfeld feels people will vote the right way) is a complete farce no matter how you look at it.

3. I agree with the last part or your reponse,
but the insurgents have been targeting Iraqis who are applying to be police, and also Iraqi police stations. They seem to have no qualms about attacking Iraqis who cooperate with the US foreign invaders.
