That number is issued to her by the US Marshal's Service. the 054 is probably what district of New York had jurisdiction over her case.

I would give her some advice.

1. When you self surrender, wear some comfortable, all white, sneakers. The R&D will let you wear them in ONLY if they are all white.

2. Take a couple of hundred dollars cash with you. These will be entered into your inmate account immedeately. A check or money order takes days and you will not be able to get stuff from the commissary until then.

3. Try for an orderly or GED tutor job. Those are the best ones to have.

4. Make sure someone on the inside sends you some novels every week or so. These can be passed to other inmates and score big points.

5. Watch those that try to be friends to quickly.
