My Rant of the Day on My Family Site....
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 08:18 PM by Jokinomx
Its not quite as blunt as Matcom's rant...however, this was posted on my Families web site. I have several RWers and Born Agains Brothers and Sisters that think chimp "walks on water"....

Anyway.. this letter is directed to all those that are on the fence or already on the other side....

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a quote from Donald Rumsfeld...

"Any implication that that place has to be peaceful and perfect before we can reduce coalition and US forces would obviously be, I think, unwise because it has never been peaceful and perfect, and it isn't likely to be."

In my opinion, this is the beginning of us hearing more statements like this, preparing the public for the idea of leaving before there is peace in Iraq. This administration will be trying to save face with more talk about how our goal was NEVER to solve all the problems in the Iraq.

I say... we might as well get out now... because the attacks on our forces are not going to stop. The last poll that I read, using thousands of Iraqis, was that over 80% of the country wants us out immediately.

This war was a sham and a disgrace to Americans and to the world. I am ashamed of how my country has reacted to the events of Sept. 11th. All of the top U.S. officials that were involved in this monumental blunder should be held accountable for their actions in a court of law. Charged with not following our own constitution.

Can anyone show me in our constitution where it states we can attack a sovereign nation and install a new government?

As Americans we should be appalled at what is happening in Iraq, we should be appalled that innocent men, women and children are being killed without a thought for what these people are going through.

We have killed over 15,000 people since this administration has taken over....Our health-care is in a crisis... our economy is struggling... three quarters of the world is disgusted with our leaders..... our cities are cutting vital services such as firemen, police officers, EMTs and paramedics.... our national debt has quadrupled in just three years...over 400 environmental laws have been scaled back or repealed...our educational system has been underfunded and EVERY school district in this country has had to cut services or raise fees for participating in school functions... yet there are people that STILL think we are going in the right direction. Do your American duty and RESEARCH just a little bit... PLEASE!! For your children's sake.

Our country is at a crossroads and too many people think that we can't change leaders in the middle of a war. BULLSHIT.... that is our DUTY as Americans..to recognize the fact that we have incompetent leaders and VOTE them out!!! It is our ONLY recourse. If you don't educate yourself on what bush has done to Texas in the nineties and then look at what he has done in just three years as our leader.... we are all doomed for failure.

There is talk of re-instating the draft.... there is talk of attacking Iran.... didn't I say this before the invasion of Iraq... that this was only the beginning. GET your head out of the sand .... I DON'T want my children forced to fight for a cause that they don't support themselves. If you support this administration and what it stands for... sign up YOUR own kids up to defend and bring freedom and peace to the world. I will support DEFENDING my country... not forcing our way of thinking on another country. That is what we tried to do in Vietnam... it DOESN'T work!!

What is going to really piss me off is when my nieces and nephews ARE drafted and then my Brothers and Sisters that supported bush and his cronies say "We didn't know" as they watch yet another generation of young Americans march off to war.

The time is NOW!!! Its time to WAKE UP!!

Don't take a chance by voting for bush. He HAS not done one thing that has made this world a safer place. NOT ONE!! If you believe he has, then go ahead and vote for him.... just don't complain when our economy continues to struggle or we widen our war with more countries and a draft ensues.

I will end my rant... with this...

I will be the first to say that John Kerry may not have all the answers. We may have gone to far down the wrong road for anyone to get us back on track. But to sit by and continue to support a man that has done more harm to our world in three years than any man in my lifetime is un-American. We have to send a message to the world that our system works... our leaders made a mistake and we replace them. Hoping that we do better. Giving hope to the world that we will continue to try to get things right. IF bush is elected.... we will have four more years of the same..... more hate... more deaths.... more sacrifices on the home front...

Its your choice.

That is my rant for the day....
