Planning for November 3rd
I know thinking ahead, especially under the rule of Emperor Dumbshit, is probably a fools errand, but seriously, November 2nd isn't the beat all to end all.

As 2000 taught us (painfully) the real "entertainment" begins after the election.

Remember back in 2000, when all the Republican staffers were down in Florida pretending to be Floridians? (anyone with pictures of that fiasco, with the accompanying breakdown/IDs, PLEASE post it!) Or when all those FREEPERs (and alledgedly Dora Bush as well) were standing out in front of the VP residents, using Bullhorns and chanting "Get out of Dick Cheney's house".

Is anyone NOT anticipating this sort of shit again from the Republithugs? Even if Kerry wins by a huge landslide(Please God) Does anyone think that the BFEE is going to go quietly into the night?

I imagine the Republinazis will be whipped into a frenzy if the election doesn't go their way.

Let's face the facts as they stand, both Ben Ginsberg (slimey Republican/White House Operative advisor to the Lying Swift Boat Vets for Bush) and Ted Olsen (slimey Arkansas Project "brain" and FORMER Solicitor General) have both mysteriously left the ospices of the White House. Why? Could it be that these two cretins are working on their post-election strategies to somehow keep the un-elected Fraud in power, regardless of who wins on November 2nd?

So, what do we do? While a part of me would LOVE to go and hang out at the VP's residence and do the "Get out of Edwards House" thing with the Bullhorns (just as payback, you understand) Thankfully, my parents raised me to be a better American than your standard self righteous FREEPER/Nazi/Bush Supporter.

So, what do we do?

One idea I had was to flood the White House, via snail mail, with Pink Slips for Dumbya, Oil Dick, Rummy, Kinda-Sleezy, and Asscroft, Letting them know that as of 1/20/2005, their jobs are being outsourced to people infinetly more qualified.

But seriously, what ideas have been floated so far?

1. National strike
I believe I've read that some people are calling for a general work stoppage across the US.

4. I'll be in Florida on November 5
They will likely still be counting and losing votes

I expect Kerry to win in a landslide, but I also expect problems with vote counting. I suspect after this election, the Republicans will then discover there really are problems and it will be their turn to question the election results. When we win, they will feel cheated and this is precisely what is wrong with unverifiable election results.

I scheduled vacation time with this in mind, because after the 2000 election I'm ready to hang somebody's chad!

5. "Let's Act in the the Democratic Emergency" by Ronnie Dugger, 7/30/04

Let's Act in the the Democratic Emergency
by Ronnie Dugger

We are in an American emergency. It is the emergency of all our American emergencies. Along with the Civil War, this is our second crisis of legitimacy, but more, it is the culminative crisis of our identity. Are we a democracy, or have we irreversibly degenerated into a Presidential-corporate-military dictatorship? Are we still a good country, or are we becoming a bad country? Can we understand and act in the emergency well and fast enough, or will we lose the United States as we know it?

But as we approach the national election three months away, we have slowly awakened to realize, too, that this quite general American emergency is focusing down into an historic democratic emergency.

snip:
In this narrowing crisis the first thing we must do is stay calm, and the second, stay nonviolent. We should tighten up our whole movement so that out commitment to nonviolence clearly means anti-violence.

We must believe that all this is happening, even though it is amazing and astounding. This is not theory. This is a nightmare, but it is not a dream. This IS unconstitutional usurpation, the arrogant abuse of democratic power, the President's explicitly declared will to dominate the world in our names, the will to wage illegal aggressive war with the seized power of the United States, the will of the President and his junta to kill in order to steal control of the oilfields of Iraq, and now a national election set up to be stolen.

snip:

As the great liberated American woman Margaret Fuller said, "It is so hard to prevent one's feelings from evaporating in words." We have to act. As another advocate of planning for November 3rd says, "We need a whole suite of approaches." If you want to do this please tell Dr. Peter Mott of Rochester, New York, who, under the rubric "Save the Election," is collecting the names of organizations and individuals that want to do this, or something like it, before, when, and if worst comes to worst on November 2nd. Peter Mott's telephone number is 585-381-5606, and his email is interconnect-mott@juno.com.

We the American people are on trial at the bar of history. If we let the Presidency be stolen with invisibly counted votes we're both stupid and supine. If we do not act now against the theft of the election, we may be complicitous in the confirmed incarnation of the first privately controlled dictatorship of the mass mind in history.
