Alert!!! Abrams Report (MSNBC)
to run a segment on an interview that "proves" that the ruling that ended the 2000 election was "political." It sounds like it may be pretty interesting!

5. No rationale
The decision came first, the Court's rationale for the decision came out later.

Justice Kennedy was the swing vote ... he almost caved, but the law clerk for Kennedy pulled him back.

7. Conservative Law Clerks
The law clerks were behind the Court taking the case to begin with. The law clerks were left to find a way to allow the Court to take the case.

Great report. Should be something on abramsreport.msnbc.com according to Mr. Abrams.

10. It looks like the October issue of Vanity Fair
will have an in-depth study of the case, from the point of view of some of the law clerks for the more liberal justices. The author of the article, David Margolick, approached all (or almost all) of the clerks involved, but only had responses from those working for the more liberal judges. This does not mean, he points out, that these clerks are politically active. It does mean they were outraged by what they saw.

The core of the majority had already decided that they needed to put an end to the re-count when they decided to accept the case. Hence, the clerks were convinced much of the discussion of the issues was a mere rehearsal. Justice Kennedy had started out sympathetic to the liberals; his law clerks pressured him behind the scenes to go with the Bush-supporters.

This article looks to be explosive. I urge DUers to read it along with reviewing Vince Bugliosi's book, The Betrayal of America.

12. Bush v. Gore is a horrible decision
The story about Kennedy being the swing vote is not new. There was something about it a couple of years ago. It is clear that the five justices who voted to end the recount are traitors to the constitution.

13. Vanity Fair article
I got this from a DU thread.

Someone made PDF's of the magazine pages.

Long article - well worth the time.
