Are Americans REALLY looking for a president to have a beer with?
Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 12:18 AM by glarius
Has it really come down to that?...This seems to be the message I'm getting from the so-called pundits on CNN and other stations....I refuse to believe that the American public does not realize that their president is more than a drinking partner!....If this is the case, then the U.S.A is in more of a mess than I thought possible!

What I'm trying to say here is that surely the American public is looking for a president who can relate to the rest of the world and make good judgments, and not just be amiable?

1. I am looking
for a president that doesn't need sense knocked into him. Is that too much to ask?

2. Drinking buddy was something Bush was good at
The media has to cater to "w's" strengths.

3. Yep, we are in that kind of a mess.
Ironically, Bush says he doesn't drink anymore, but that may mean that he doesn't drink any more than he used to, which was quite a lot.

4. It's the only bush strong point, that he is likable.

Personally, the bastard makes my skin crawl and it hurts my eyes to look at him, but they think he is likable. I disgree.

7. People that actually knew him growing up
Say he was an arrogant obnoxious bully as a kid and young adult. Characteristics like that don't change. I've never found him likable at all.
