Consent of the Governed?
If *Bush steals the next election, is it time then for revolution?

What say you?

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient Causes; and accordingly all Experience hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security...."

I'd almost forgotten.....thanks for posting this.

Certainly, Iwould not be opposed to such and action--as horrible as it might be. However, I can't invision how revolutionaries would organize well enough to pull off such a thing. It could take a long time,cause blood shed,cause suffering and all sorts of hideous outcomes. Are there enough people willing to go through all that?

Would the military be on the revolutionaries side or shoot them in the street and in congress???? What would such a revolution look like in this day and age? Would it be more like a mutiny, done mainly in Washington DC by politicians and supporters?

It's an interesting thing to consider, but yes, I would be willing to sacrifice comfort in order to save the nation/democracy. God forbid such a thing should ever become necessary.

Lets hope decency returns; fair and honest elections are held and our guy wins!
