It was also a fundraiser. I found these remarks at the blog, will snip part of them.

SNIP..."Unfortunately, no music tonight, but Dean was in top form and the crowd was eating out of his hand. He was joined by Senator Jon Corzine, Senator Tom Harkin, and Reps. Jesse Jackson Jr. and Neil Abercrombie. Rep. Bobby Scott showed up later, but Dean had already left.

My favorite lines from the night came from Harkin and Jackson. Jesse Jackson said that even with all that has happened, Howard Dean is STILL his nominee. The crowd went wild. And Harkin got a little choked up when he said he never for a minute regrets supporting the Gov. All the speakers heaped praise on him. It was nice to see him getting the accolades he deserves. "
