ever wonder why so many debt consolidation and sub-prime lenders advertise
on right-wing talk show?

could it be that their audiences are financially irresponsible? i'm sure they're victims of that go-go bush economy, just like the rest of us.

but don't they know how to manage money? i thought they were the party of business!

thoughts?

1. I've always believed that the commercials were geared to the
demographic of the audience.

I heard that poor conservatives believe that they will someday be rich conservatives if they just practice the faith and stick to the dogma.
I think that anyone with that mind set who hears anything about finance thinks he/she is tuning in on what they need to hear to become rich. They can't tell the lies from the truth.

The rich conservatives rely on the stupidity and gullibility of the poor conservatives to keep them in power. Rush doesn't have anything in common with his listeners but all of them think they have something in common with Rush.

2. I've known alot of young republicans who live far above their means.
Credit, credit, credit. They have to have the expensive car, or the $300 shoes, or the $400 purse.

But then again, I think alot of people in every demographic save "uber rich" are hurting these days.

3. Gotta have it NOW..
My friend (bless her heart) has financial troubles out the wazoooo. She has declared BK, her idiot boyfriend has convinced her to re-fi every last drop of equity from HER house, and yet every time we see a new Altima, she practically salivates.. :eyes: Says she's "gonna get one of those"..

We have a 1980 Corolla wagon (paid $500.00 for it YEARS ago)
a 1991 Accord Ex
a 1988 Dodge cheapo pickup truck

we are perfectly satisfied with our oldies cars, but it baffles me why anyone who was flat broke would even entertain the idea of a brand new car :(..

I just don't get it..

4. I don't get it either.
I know one girl who refuses to buy a handbag for $25- just on general principle. She spent $300 that she couldn't afford on a name brand instead. She bought a Lexis with her boyfriend, because they "couldn't drive a ghetto car".

Big Bush fans as well. I honestly think their politics have more to do with their insecurities than anything else. They want everyone to believe that they're wealthy, but they aren't.

I make more than both of them combined and I only stopped driving my '69 Bug last year (replaced it with a '92 Toyota for $2k).
