If Kerry breaks a rule in the debate
what can happen? They have this stupid 32 page contract, what if they break a rule? Will they go to jail? get sued? What exactly??

Go ahead a break a rule if you can get away with it and ask shrub a question.

4. Let's hope he does.
Let him go AWOL from the debate like he went AWOL from his National Guard duty. That alone is gold.

7. If Bush really walks away, this election is over.
We can only hope that he follows through.

16. Read these excerpts from Americablog
as written by The National Journal(subscription). Some very interesting insights regarded as * errors for debate.

A few things I sure hadn't thought of.

2. If Kerry or the networks break any rules, it's an excuse for the coWard to
Weasel and Worm his Way out of any more debates, because he knows Kerry Will Wipe the floor With him.

3. Both candidates broke the rules in 2000
Bush whined about it to the moderator and Gore kind of joked about it. That's all that happened.

It'd be funny if Bush threatened to sue. I'd laugh my ass off. :D

5. The only penalty I read in the agreement is that the moderator will
call them on it, and that's supposed to embarrass tham. I also heard this same comment about the penalty on CNN today.

I suppose it depends on what the breach is, and how it's perceived by the viewers.

6. bush will refuse to do #2 and 3. He'll take this way out even if Kerry
colors inside the lines. bush will blame the cable and network people who have already said they won't abide by the 32 pages of rules.

9. jean, I'm afraid that I agree with you and
that the Chimp will not do 2 or 3. I should say that Rove won't let him do 2 or 3.

10. Won't happen.
If Bush walks away, this election is over.

His entire persona is built on Mr. Tough Guy. Walking away from the debates would ensure a Kerry victory.

13. If Bush should
walk off, Kerry should say "George, if you get to Alabama this time, tell them I said Hey"

8. Rove's hard-on ejaculates if that happens. The media laps it up.
because the debates become an "issue" and Iraq is taken off the board.

THINK!

12. The GOP wanted this flashing light business.
They think it'll somehow humiliate Kerry, since he actually **thinks** while he speaks.

Ridiculous.

14. Not everyone is on board with the contract
The contract is supposed to be signed by representatives of both campaigns, the moderators and the media. I've been hearing reports (NPR and TV) that only the campaigns have signed. One report said the moderators and media refuse and say they will conduct themselves as they feel is appropriate.

I wonder if Bush would walk out if the moderator or cameraman didn't follow the rules?
