Moderators, TV and cable could disregard debate agreement!
I just heard this on Nightline! They said only 2 people signed that agreement. One rep from each campaign. That means everyone else could just disregard it!

Ohhhh, I HOPE SO!!!

2. Do you know that for sure?
I'm not sure I buy off that cspan and all the major networks would let that happen.

3. I know that for sure.
Reuters: Fox News will run the pool cameras, providing multiple video streams for all networks covering the debate. Spokesman Paul Schur said Fox News isn't going to abide by the rules set down by the campaigns.

6. I am very surprised at that info. Wonder how they pulled that off?
I've heard of pool reporters and all that stuff, but I just find it hard to believe FOX of all networks could get this deal.

4. Air America is having the debates on the radio.
I grew up with radio before TV. Believe me you can listen and not have to look.

5. I have no problem with radio, but you miss the visuals.
I've always watched peoples stance, eye movement, hand movement, maybe a misplaced grin or frown, and yes, the sweaty upper lip. I think those things tell you a lot more than their words ever will.

That's my only problem with just listening on the radio.

7. I am thinking it's also the the problem with the message.
If you aren't distracted with the wardrobe, makeup and body language, you will listen to what they say with more attenttion, sort of like reading a book.

8. I don't care about wardrobs, but the body language is important.
It tells the truth a lot more than words do.

Take the time to watch people sometime. It doesn't matter where you work, or what your job. Friends will lean on the doorframe of your office, or on your toolbox. The enemy will stand with their hands on their hips, or behind their back. An agressor will come very close to you to get in your face.

There's lots of different signs, but people can't seem to control them like they can their speech.

9. Body language is great, I have to admit.
Phantomine is based on it. Charlie Chaplin??? But now we want ideas. This debate has been so scripted as to camera angles, the height of the podiums, the lighting. Really you need to listen and not look.

11. I will challenge you.
Listen to the debates on Air America first. Tape, Tivo or however you get your videos on C-Span and watch afterwards. You know once won't be enough anyway, and this way you get two different perspectives. This is what I'm doing.

12. That's fine. Do it both ways.
Cspan is reairing the debate all night so I could watch one time and listen (without watching the screen) another.

I understand your point of being forced to listen to the words, and that's important. I just believe watching all the personal reactions is equally important.
