Terence McKenna fans?!
Well! I was posting about how y'all gotta read Larry Flynt's OUTSTANDING book "Sex Lies & Politics, The Naked Truth" and how it's a great read, written in plain English, blah blah blah, for lack of a better term, and not to get one hell of a runonsentence going here, but I figured what the HEY and see if any fellow Terence McKenna fans were out there! I love Tim Leary, don't get me wrong, but GODDAMNIT! I can't get thru a page of his stuff! Unless I just read the stuff that ain't written in somewhat plain English. Now, on the other hand, Terence McKenna (yet another late great...) his stuff, for the most part, it written in plain English. "Archaic Revival" however, alot of it wasn't! Can you say BAD EXAMPLE! BUT, if y'all haven't read Terence's book "FOOD OF THE GODS" please by all means DO SO! It is one of those books that you just cannot put down until you FINISH IT! Yes, it's that good! No, I don't make any money from it...although I only wish I did! It still ranks in my top 5 of best books EVER! It's so to the point, so true, and a damn shame that more people in power don't take his advice. I've been kinda dying to know how many y'all are fans of his, and if any are down here in South Florida where we could use a good dose of environmentalism as well as about 5 dried grams of shrooms so that people would chill the funk out! ESPECIALLY on the roads! Christ, calm down ya nutbags!

1. Yes, Food of the Gods is quite an impressive work
Made me rethink some things, pronto, when I read it back in the mid 1990's.

3. Same here!
Yeah, I too rethinked just about everything. You realize just how much nature is ALIVE! And, you realize how much the powers-that-be are completely full of SHIT! It took me FOREVER to find a copy of it. I finally found it at the bookstore on the U. of Penn. campus in Philly when I was up there (long story, annoying exgirlfiend alert!) and I read it in like 2 days! I didn't even stop to eat!!!

Lu Cifer, now if only I could find some of the other books...and some money to buy them would be nice too!!!

KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE!!!

2. Big fan here
He was a great speaker too. Funny, fast, intense, and entertaining. Played with words like a poet. I only saw him speak once, but it was amazing. Sorry he left us so soon.

4. Oh you ain't kidding...
...why am I reminded of Bill Hicks' great line "We live in a world where John Lennon was murdered...but Barry Manilow cooonnnntinues to put out fuckin albums!!!" GRRR. I wish they'd make a CD (if someone hasn't already that is) of his public speaking things. If it wasn't for Terence, hell I'd have never known who Art Bell was! I remember back around 1997 trying to get WFTL outta Ft. Lauderdale cuz it was the only station anywhere near me that had Coast To Coast, and lucky me my sis lived in Deerfield! Freaky that C2C is now syndicated by jackass Crap Channel. BARF. And I tell ya, I don't trust George Norry as far as I could projectile hurl on him. He sucked up to W waaaaay too much in the pre-Iraq conquest. And after too. At least Art, yeah sometimes I don't agree with his political opinions, but, at least I can tell where he's comin from. George Norry on the other hand, he just comes off like another freakin Crap Channel-suckhole. How the hell did I get off onto THIS damn tangent? Oh yeah! I forgot...man, I am too young to be having "senior moments" ya know!!! Anyways, nice to see some fans of Terence! And, I'm also glad that his brother Dennis is keeping the flame alive. I'll never forget his interview with Art Bell from like 2 years ago. Man, I about broke my damn fingers posting to EVERYWHERE for people to listen to that! I think I STILL got pains from that, but it was worth it. What those two have done, rather DO, in one day for the world, is such the 180 from OTHER people...you reading this John Asscrack!?

Lu Cifer, if you're keeping a gov't file on me, please put down QUEEN as my favorite band, thank you! And put down Jane's Addiction, Electric Hellfire Club and Geniorturers too!

12. Wait, isn't he the "friendly beach balls from another dimension" guy?
I guess I never took enough drugs--or ate enough lead paint chips or swallowed enough thermometer mercury--to understand what people see in either McKenna or that other "sacred" whack job and neurological casualty Timothy Leary. I sure wish I could earn the worship of others--and tons of their money--by constantly babbling psychedelic and pseudoscientific jerk-off nonsense.

In 1984, I caught Timothy Leary at a book signing at a book store in Santa Cruz. He was shaking like a Parkinson's patient gone way off his meds, and he was spewing some horseshit about artificial vs. real intelligence. Although the crowd listened gaping-mawed, in almost religious adulation, my assessment was that this guy had watched "Blade Runner" a few too many times, since his ideas seemed to be culled directly from the script of the non-director's-cut.

Y'all can love McKenna and Leary if you want, but I don't understand how you can also blow shit on George W. Bush. He makes as much sense as these guys ever did, and he probably knows just as much about which mushrooms will get you moving into the dimension with the pulsating, friendly "hyperbeachballs".

And yes, I fully expect to get flamed for this, and I don't give a fuck.
