Its amazing how quickly that all went down.

Had the palace guards not done what they did the coup would have probably been successful and there would have been alot more bloodshed.

Another interesting tidbit, 1/4 of Venezualens own handguns.

- well, it gives goosebumps just remembering it. Amazing emotional drama.

I have it on tape (it's been broadcast several times here on the CBC). I'll have to watch it again soon.

I was really suprised about how the whole coup came about.

People can argue about how Bush stole the election in 2000, but it atleast was somewhat legal and there was an orderly transfer of power, and we will hopefully have another orderly transfer of power come January.

But I was amazed by how those people tried to overthrow Chavez and claim that they were restoring democracy. There was absolutely nothing legal or constitutional about what they were doing.

It also made me sick when they were talking about dissolving thier version of Congress and thier supreme court, and they were all cheering for it.
