Authorities WARN of possible debate THREATS
Authorities warn of possible debate threats

From Jeanne Meserve
CNN Washington Bureau
Wednesday, September 29, 2004 Posted: 3:55 PM EDT (1955 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI warned authorities in Florida that Thursday's presidential debate at the University of Miami could be an attractive target for terrorists.

The agencies sent an assessment of potential terrorist threats and tactics to Florida Homeland Security Adviser and to the FBI's Miami field office.

"We do not have any specific information or intelligence to suggest that this first presidential debate is a target," a DHS official said, adding that there was no specific threat information against any of the debates. (Special Report: America Votes 2004, the debates)

The official said that the face-offs between President Bush and Democratic nominee John Kerry were symbolic events that terrorists might target in an effort to disrupt the elections.

The warning, issued Monday, notes that southern Florida has been used as a base of operations and transit point by al Qaeda operatives and some of the 9/11 hijackers.

The warning identifies some potential "soft targets" in south Florida, but the DHS official said there is no specific intelligence that they have been targeted.

The warning "basically looks at very broad intelligence that has been out there for a long time," the official said.

3. LOCK DOWN!....... watch for it........you heard it here!
MSNBC has already interviewed some security drone and rolled subtitles about a force of thousands, under the direction of the secret service to head off "potential threats" at the University of Miami. The "free speech" zones are already delineated.

6. JUST IN: Do Not Watch the Debates
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 09:34 AM by lunabush
Ashcroft says do not watch the debates. If there is a terror attack "they" have technology that will come through your TV and fry you and your family. /sarcasm

8. No need to watch. The commentators will explain it all afterwards.
Bush's mastery of the language & comfort in his own skin will surely make him the winner!

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and the Intergalatic Defense League, warned authorities in Florida that Thursday's presidential debate at the University of Miami could be an attractive target for alien spacecraft landings, abductions, and major crop circles.

The agencies sent an assessment of potential extraterrestrial threats and anal probing tactics to Florida Homeland Security Adviser and to the FBI's Miami magnetic field orifice. The Intergalatic Defense League was quite peeved about having to borrow the FBI's copy.

"We can't really manage to have any specific information or enough intelligence to even suggest that this first presidential debate is a target for crop circles and errie, glowing lights," a DHS official said, adding that there was no specific threat information against any of the debates, other than Jeb Bush's sour attitude and total media bias. (Special Report: America Votes 2004, but the aliens really debate)

The official said that the face-offs between President Bush and Democratic nominee John Kerry were symbolic events that malevolent ET might target in an effort to bring honesty to the elections.

The warning, issued Monday, notes that southern Florida has been used as a landing base of operations and transit point by saucer operatives and some of the people that Michael Moore hangs out with.

The warning identifies some potential "soft-serve target stores" in south Florida, but the DHS official said there is never any specific intelligence, or concrete evidence, that anything has ever been targeted. "People do buy it every time though!" he said. He noted that some odd SETI@HOME info does indicate a potential, total invasion of the planet around this time.

The warning "basically uses an Ouija board to come up with a very broad lack of intelligence that has been out in outer space since a long, long time ago, in a Galaxy, far, far away!" the official said.

I could have told you that an event where the president and a presidential candidate are appearing is a POSSIBLE target, too.

11. These warnings are all about setting up tighter security...
...around the Nov. elections. If Bush* is caught cheating (again) all he has to do is declare martial law or a 'red alert' based on bogus threats and the fraud will fade into the background.

- There will be NO protests or dissent allowed under these circumstances.
