Found a financial memo my grandfather wrote
He was a big deal on Wall Street in his day - heavily involved in the FHA. I've been looking through his old papers and found a memo he sent around in which he is deeply concerned about America's crushing, dangerous level of debt. Know what the national debt was then?

$76 million dollars
Boy o boy are we screwed.

1. Your grandfather would be horrified today.....
I was just watching part of "Affluenza" on LinkTV, the part about how many families have charged themselves into a personal crushing debt.

Everything in this country is coming due at once..... debt, environment, empire, greed -- a heavy lesson is about to be learned.

Unfortunately, those who were as wise as your grandfather will be crushed along with those either responsible, or too dumb to think clearly about what they were doing.

Your grandfather was probably a Republican of the "old school" -- I wish more of them were screaming bloody murder right now!

2. Bingo - old school Repub
who hated Kennedy and Carter with a passion.

I'm pretty sure I know what he'd have to say about dubya, and it wouldn't be pretty.

3. Is there even a figure on personal debt in this country?
I know we have a figure on the federal deficit both annually and total, but is there a figure on personal debt?

5. I think it's quoted in "Affluenza". Do you have access to that?
If not, I'll try to catch it the next time I see it.

4. Relax, it's only 100,000 times as much now.
Wait until Busco is through looting the treasury, us and all of our descendants. The sky is the limit. Remember reading about the inflation in eastern Europe in the 1920s when they actually printed banknotes of quadrillions, and even quintillions? That's what we are in for, along with a gigantic depression. Yeah, that 76 million won't even buy you a loaf of bread in a few years, if there is any bread.
